Renowned Kenyan social commentator and influencer Cassypool Capon has once again sparked conversation online after openly expressing admiration for Ugandan General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, describing him as a chosen leader.

Speaking during a recent appearance in Uganda, Cassypool said that in East Africa, Muhoozi is chosen, adding that many people are called to be leaders, but a few are chosen.

Cassypool also praised Muhoozi’s leadership qualities and claimed the military general represents the kind of leadership many young people in the region want to see.

“I love General Muhoozi because he is a leader, he is chosen, so many people are called, but few are chosen,” Cassypool said.

He went on to describe Muhoozi as a leader who strongly opposes corruption, saying this is one of the reasons he supports him.

“In East Africa, he is chosen; he hates and fights corruption. That is the leader that we want in the East African region,” he added.

Political ambitions

Cassypool also spoke about his own political ambitions, revealing that he hopes to one day become the Governor of Nairobi. According to him, he believes Muhoozi could also rise to become Uganda’s next president.

“As we speak, right now, we are praying so that God can give him alot of years under the sun because I am the next elected governor of Nairobi and when I come back here (Uganda), I want to come and celebrate with General Muhoozi as the next president of Uganda,” Cassypool stated.

Cassypool’s gubernatorial bid

The influencer has been vocal about his bid for the Nairobi governorship in 2027, positioning himself as an alternative to traditional politicians and promising a different leadership approach focused on service delivery and accountability.

He said he sees himself as the only viable candidate outside the political class, arguing that his background as an influencer sets him apart from his competitors.

“Am the next governor of Nairobi. I am the only candidate who is not a politician; all my opponents are politicians, and I am an influencer,” Cassypool said.

I think Nairobi needs a noisemaker and not a politician because a noisemaker atapiga kelele madawa zikuwe kwa hospitali, atapiga kelele drainage ifanye kazi, atapiga kelele watu wapate maji safi.”

Nairobi inahitaji mpiga kelele; haiitaji mwanasiasa.
