Georgina Njenga opens up about depression, suicidal thoughts after breakup with baby daddy

Content creator and influencer Georgina Njenga has opened up about her struggles with mental health, revealing that she has been experiencing depressive episodes and frightening thoughts in recent months.
In a statement shared via her Instagram Stories on Thursday, January 29, 2026, Njenga said life behind the camera is not always as perfect as it looks online, noting that she often has to push through difficult moments because work must go on.
She explained that she recently sent a photo to her best friend after feeling unlike herself, but still had to show up and shoot content despite her emotional state. Njenga said the pressure to stay consistent can be heavy, especially when dealing with personal challenges away from the public eye.
“I hate having depressive episodes. God knows what we deal with behind cameras. I sent this photo to my best friend because I was not myself, but I literally had work to shoot no matter what,” she shared.

Njenga also hinted that the period following her breakup with her baby daddy has been difficult, saying she has been dealing with flashbacks and random suicidal thoughts that sometimes scare her. However, she noted that she is trying to focus on healing and is grateful for the progress she has made so far.

She went on to encourage anyone going through a hard time, saying things will get better this year. Njenga also revealed that she is considering speaking more openly about mental health, adding that she may start sharing her experiences weekly as part of her life journey.
“To anyone who is not okay, we will be this year. I must shoot a video about everything that has happened after breaking up with babydaddy, but yooh thank God for the gift of healing, but the flashbacks, the random suicidal thoughts get scaring sometimes!! actually think I should start talking about mental health as part of my life once a week,” Georgina Njenga stated.
Breakup
In a previous interview with Eve Mungai, Georgina spoke about her breakup with Baha, saying it was a mutual decision that came after a buildup of unresolved issues.
She made it clear that the split was not triggered by one specific incident.
“There was no specific reason; it was just not working. There were just piled-up issues, ni mambo mingi yenye hamjui,” she said, choosing not to share more details.
Georgina explained that they decided after sitting down and realising the relationship could no longer work, even after trying to fix things through conversations and involving family members.
“We sat down and felt hii imeenda, we tried talking for so long but… We tried to involve family,” Georgina shared.

She also stressed that staying together just because of a child is not always the best choice, noting that co-parenting can still provide stability and love for the child.
“A child should not be a reason to stay in a relationship; you can co-parent. Tyler loves his daughter, and he is in her life. I knew that he would be there even when I was pregnant,” she noted.
Responding to claims that the breakup was connected to Tyler’s gambling scandal, Georgina dismissed the speculation, saying their relationship had ended long before the issue became public.
“Aai, we broke up before the gambling issue, ilihappen before ata ikihappen watu walienda kuangalia, ata the unfollowing came before,” she clarified, shutting down the rumours.
While she admitted she was aware of Tyler’s gambling, Georgina said she would not speak on it further, adding that it was not her story to tell.
“I knew he was gambling, but that is his side to talk about; I won’t address that,” she concluded.
