From iron sheet house to a mansion: Ndeke shows his humble beginnings

Kamba musician and dancer Ndeke ya Muthanga has taken fans down memory lane by showing the mabati house where he started life, as he announced plans to host a mega house-warming party for his newly built house.

In a video shared on his TikTok page on Saturday, January 3, 2026, the ‘Kisunguli’ crooner thanked his fans for their continued support and revealed that he had promised to make a major announcement about a house he has been building.

“Okay, my fans, I love you all so much. Happy New Year. As I had announced earlier, I said I would make an announcement from my home,” he said.

He expressed gratitude to bloggers and fans who reshared his house-warming message widely, noting that media personalities Katumbi and Rick Be TV were among those who amplified the announcement.

“I shared the message on Facebook, and I want to thank the bloggers and my fans for picking it up and resharing it. Many people supported the announcement, including media personality Katumbi and Rick Be TV, and I thank them very much,” he said.

Makeshift house

The musician explained that the makeshift mabati home from which he was speaking holds deep personal significance, as it is where his journey began.

He revealed that the mansion he has built is not far away from the Mabati one and added that its house-warming party is scheduled for March 28, 2025.

“This is my home, where I live, and I want to show you the big things that have happened in my life. This is where I will hold a huge house-warming party on 28 March 2025. You will all come here and dance because I am a big Kamba singer,” he said.

While giving a tour of his former abode, Ndeke recalled that he had constructed the structure himself and slept there together with his loved ones before his fortunes changed.

He attributed his success to God, stating that his rise from humble beginnings to building a new house was a testimony of divine grace.

“I want to show you the house where I started life so that you can see the greatness of God and what He can do. I came from this small house. This house is mine, and I remember very well that I am the one who built it. This is where my family and I first slept,” he said.

The mabati house is entirely made of iron sheets, with a simple interior. Once the door is opened, a bed is visible inside. The iron sheets forming the walls and roof are loosely joined, leaving visible gaps between them, highlighting the modest conditions under which the musician says he once lived.

While at it, he revealed that the new house, which he plans to officially open during the housewarming ceremony, represents a major transformation in his life.

He invited fans to attend the event to witness what he described as a journey from grass to grace, adding that the celebration would be an opportunity for people to see how far he has come.

“God later helped me to build a new house, which you will all come to see on the day I officially open it. Truly, this is a journey from grass to grace. Come and see the goodness of God. He has lifted me up so much,” he said.
