By , June 20, 2026

The much-anticipated Vurugu 2 boxing extravaganza lived up to its hype on Saturday, June 20, 2026, delivering an action-packed night of boxing, celebrity clashes, dramatic moments and entertainment at the Sarit Expo Centre in Westlands, Nairobi.

The event, organised by media personality Oga Obinna through Obinna TV Studios, brought together musicians, content creators, professional boxers and entertainers for a unique blend of competitive boxing and live entertainment.

One of the notable moments of the night was the highly contested fight between Munaswar and Mr Clear The Air, which ended in a draw after both fighters battled fiercely but failed to produce a winner.

The two exchanged punches in a closely fought contest that kept fans engaged, with neither fighter managing to secure a decisive advantage before the judges declared the bout a stalemate.

Kenya’s Salim Amoit also delivered a strong performance at Vurugu 2, defeating Tanzania’s Deogratious by unanimous decision.

Amoit impressed throughout the fight, with judges ruling in his favour after considering his overall display inside the ring. His victory added to Kenya’s successful night against regional competition.

Tyson Mauru was another winner on the night after being declared victorious against Clinton by unanimous decision.

Mauru maintained control during the contest, earning the judges’ approval and walking away with a well-earned victory.

The night also produced one of the biggest finishes when Bernard Achoki defeated Azaad Nasir through a technical knockout.

Achoki dominated the contest and forced the referee to stop the fight, securing one of the most impressive victories of the evening.

The results came during a star-studded fight card that had attracted attention days before the event due to the high-profile names involved and the rivalries surrounding some of the bouts.

The headline attraction was the much-talked-about clash between Kenyan musician Arrow Bwoy and Ugandan socialite Shakib Cham, the husband of Tanzanian media personality Zari Hassan.

The tension between the two fighters escalated during the official weigh-in on Friday, June 19, after Arrow Bwoy threw an egg at Shakib, creating a dramatic scene that quickly went viral online.

The event also featured a clash between bodybuilders and content creators Gachau Njoroge and Fidphil Castro (Phil), while professional boxing legend Fatuma Zarika faced Tanzania’s Najma Isike.

Another major talking point was Mbavu Destroyer’s appearance after stepping in as a replacement following the withdrawal of Majembe, the winner of Vurugu 1, who pulled out after a disagreement over contract terms.

Other fighters who featured on the card included Alfayo, Mbalimbali, Isack Chaka, S. Omoit, Stephen Olang, Andrew Ojuang, Chris Milano, Jacob Mahindu, Dalmas Kyalo, Solomon Muli, Rogers Otieno and Ramadhani Ally.

Away from the boxing ring, Vurugu 2 was also designed as a major entertainment spectacle, featuring live performances from Nigerian Afrobeats star Ruger, Kenyan rapper Khaligraph Jones, as well as DJs Kym Nickdee and Moh Spice.

Fans began streaming into the Sarit Expo Centre from the afternoon, with gates opening at 2:00 p.m. before the first bell at 3:00 p.m.

Tickets were available in different categories, with ordinary tickets going for Ksh2,000, while VIP and VVIP packages offered premium access. The exclusive VVIP tables, which included private seating, bottle service and backstage access, were priced at Ksh200,000.
