Kenyan boxing star Fatuma “Iron Fist” Zarika delivered a commanding performance on Saturday, June 20, 2026, defeating Tanzania’s Najma Isike by technical knockout in the sixth and final round during the highly anticipated Vurugu 2 boxing event at the Sarit Expo Centre in Westlands, Nairobi.

The veteran boxer, who remains one of Kenya’s most celebrated female fighters, showcased her experience and resilience throughout the bout before eventually forcing a stoppage in the final round.

The victory marked one of the standout moments of the night as Zarika lived up to expectations in front of a packed crowd that had turned up for the boxing and entertainment extravaganza organised by Oga Obinna through Obinna TV Studios.

Zarika’s triumph over the Tanzanian fighter added another memorable chapter to her boxing career and reinforced her reputation as one of East Africa’s most accomplished female boxers.

Her victory came during an action-packed evening that featured a mixture of professional boxing contests, celebrity matchups and high-profile entertainment performances.

In another notable result, Bernard Achoki emerged victorious after defeating Azaad Nasir by technical knockout.

Achoki produced one of the most dominant displays of the evening, overwhelming his opponent before the referee stepped in to stop the contest.

Meanwhile, Kenya’s Salim Amoit secured a major win against Tanzania’s Deogratious after the judges awarded him a unanimous decision victory.

Amoit impressed throughout the fight and did enough to convince all judges that he had done more than his opponent over the course of the bout.

Tyson Mauru also walked away with a victory after defeating Clinton by unanimous decision.

The win saw Mauru join the list of fighters who enjoyed successful outings during the event as he delivered a disciplined performance inside the ring.

One of the most closely contested bouts of the evening involved Munaswar and Mr Clear The Air, whose fight ended in a draw.

Neither fighter managed to create enough separation from the other, forcing the judges to settle on a stalemate after a competitive encounter.

The fights formed part of a stacked Vurugu 2 card that had generated significant attention in the days leading up to the event.

Among the most talked-about matchups was the celebrity showdown between Kenyan musician Arrow Bwoy and Ugandan socialite Shakib Cham, the husband of businesswoman and reality television star Zari Hassan.

The bout had already attracted widespread attention after a dramatic weigh-in ceremony during which Arrow Bwoy threw an egg at Shakib, escalating tensions ahead of their encounter.

The event also featured a clash between content creators and bodybuilders Gachau Njoroge and Fidphil Castro, a contest that had been heavily promoted following a tense face-off during the weigh-ins.

Another fighter who attracted attention was Mbavu Destroyer, who stepped into the spotlight after replacing Majembe, the Vurugu 1 champion who withdrew from the competition following a disagreement over contractual terms.

Other bouts on the card included Alfayo versus Mbalimbali, Isack Chaka versus S. Omoit, Stephen Olang versus Andrew Ojuang, Chris Milano versus Jacob Mahindu, Dalmas Kyalo versus Solomon Muli, and Rogers Otieno versus Ramadhani Ally.

Beyond the boxing action, Vurugu 2 doubled as a major entertainment event, drawing thousands of fans eager to witness both the fights and live performances from top artistes.

The event featured performances from Nigerian Afrobeats star Ruger, Kenyan rap heavyweight Khaligraph Jones and several other entertainers who kept fans engaged between bouts.
