Dama wa Mobile sends warning to copycats after Eric Omondi launches ambitious 476km walk

Popular Kikuyu businesswoman Damaris Muriithi, popularly known as Dama wa Mobile, has urged Kenyans who like to copy viral trends to hold off following comedian and activist Eric Omondi’s ambitious 476-kilometre walk from Nairobi to Mombasa.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, Dama warned that anyone attempting to imitate Omondi’s walk should pause.
She questioned the efforts of others who think they can replicate the feat, comparing Omondi’s journey to previous walks, including that of self-styled prophet Watoro wa Mother.
“People in the countryside should not start walking from Nairobi to Murang’a; your job is just copy-paste. Where did Watoro wa Mother’s walk reach?” Dama wrote.
She also checked in on Omondi’s progress, asking where he had reached on his journey.
“Eric Omondi, where have you reached on your walk from Nairobi to Mombasa?” she wrote.
At the same time, the Dama Mobile Spares CEO jokingly expressed concern that fellow celebrity Churchill Ndambuki might try to escort him on a motorbike during the night while people slept.
“When you get to Mtito wa Andei, we’ll know you are a master. I’m also worried that Daniel ‘Churchill’ Ndambuki, aka Mwalimu King’ang’i, might escort you on a motorbike at night while we sleep. All the best, Eric,” she wrote.
The walk, dubbed the “walk of love,” is meant to raise funds for the Sisi Kwa Sisi Help and Rescue Centre, a facility that will include a warehouse, two ambulances, a clinic, and a free secondary school.
Omondi livestreamed parts of the walk on his social media platforms to update followers and encourage contributions.
Omondi covered approximately five kilometres along Mombasa Road by 9 a.m., with the plan to reach Sultan Hamud by the end of the day.
The walk is expected to take four days, with the final destination at Mama Ngina Waterfront Park on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2026.
Renowned media personality Jeff Koinange hailed Omondi’s leadership, encouraging the public to keep supporting the initiative.
Comedians Churchill and Amber Ray, sports journalist Carol Radull, and award-winning rapper Khaligraph Jones also joined sections of the walk, showing solidarity for the cause.
