Crowds cheer as Stevo Simple Boy delivers surprise performance at ‘Kwa Mbae’ boy’s fundraiser
By Steve Ireri, April 26, 2026Crowds cheered and jubilations rang out after fast-rising rapper Stevo Simple Boy appeared on stage at the highly talked-about fundraiser for the viral ‘Kwa Mbae’ boy, belting out some of his latest hits to hundreds of excited fans.
In a video shared on his TikTok page, Stevo is seen arriving in his red Nissan March and being led to the VIP dais where seats for politicians and celebrities had been set up at Kajiunduthi Stadium.
Within minutes, he was ushered onto the stage and started performing some of his latest hits, including Mafi Mafi Mushkilla.
Stevo performed while moving from one side of the podium to the other as the hundreds of fans who had gathered at the stadium continued to cheer him on, clearly thrilled by his appearance.
Stevo is among a trove of Kenyans and celebrities who travelled to Maara Constituency in Tharaka Nithi County to stand with the family of Musa Kihara, the viral ‘Kwa Mbae’ boy whose family is facing a series of challenges, including a brother currently hospitalised with cancer.
Other prominent personalities present at the event included organiser and TikToker Obidan Dela, content creator Anne Kawira, and Maureen, the daughter of businessman Simon Kabu, among others.
Heartfelt gesture
The father said he believed his son was God-sent, noting that the overwhelming support they had received had significantly eased the burden his family had been carrying.

He credited the viral video that brought attention to his son for playing a major role in changing their circumstances, saying it helped their struggles become known to the public.
“I want to say that my son is truly God sent because of the support we now have. Even the person who recorded that viral video helped a lot because that is why we have become known. People may not understand, but we were really struggling and things were very bad for us,” he shared.
He further revealed that before the fundraiser, life had been difficult for the family, with financial and medical challenges weighing heavily on them.
He said the support from the public had already begun to relieve some of the stress they were experiencing.
“Now the stress I had has eased a bit. Even at the hospital where my other son is, people kept coming to check on me. We are doing well,” he said.
The father also shared that earlier in the day, he had visited Kenyatta National Hospital, where another one of his sons, identified as Lewis, is admitted after being diagnosed with cancer.
He explained that he had left him under the care of a cousin in order to attend the fundraiser, noting that the hospital situation was stable thanks to the support of nurses and family members.
He expressed appreciation for the concern shown by members of the public, saying people had continued to check on him and his family even at the hospital, something he described as deeply comforting.
“I want to express my happiness and gratitude for the support. I had just arrived from Kenyatta Hospital, where my other son, who has cancer, is admitted. I came here for the fundraiser to support both him and my other son who went viral in the ‘Kwa Mbae’ video. The one in the hospital is called Lewis, and he is the brother to ‘Kwa Mbae,” he stated.
