YY praises Kenya’s construction progress amid rumours he is campaigning for Ruto

Comedian YY was left amused by the amount of construction activity he encountered while travelling in Kenya on Monday, September 21, 2026.
In a post shared on Monday, YY said he had spotted eight tractors within a distance of less than one kilometre, with the heavy machinery appearing to be involved in different activities.
His observation highlighted the amount of construction and other work taking place along Kenyan roads, with tractors and other heavy machinery becoming a common sight in many areas.
Tractors everywhere
YY described his experience in a mixture of English and Sheng, joking about the near-constant presence of tractors on Kenyan roads.
“In less than a kilometre, I have seen 8 tractors doing different things,” he wrote.
He went on to suggest that it was difficult to travel through Kenya without encountering construction machinery.
“Yani hakuna mahali hakuna mjengo. Hakuna mahali naenda nakosa tinga tinga. Every car in front of you is always a tractor,” YY said.
The comedian further wondered whether there was anywhere in Kenya where one could travel without coming across a tractor.
“Hakuna mahali hakuna tinga tinga. Yana kuna mahali inakosa tinga tinga, hii Kenya? Hakuna,” he added.
Tractors becoming a familiar sight
YY noted that the tractors he encountered appeared to be engaged in different activities, pointing to the variety of work being undertaken along the roads.
His comments also captured how construction machinery has become part of the everyday Kenyan road experience, particularly in areas where buildings, roads and other infrastructure are being developed.
For YY, the sight of tractors was enough to make him reflect on the amount of activity taking place around the country.
“Tinga tinga, yani… There is always something going on. Always. There are always people. That is riziki,” he said.
