Wangari Wa Kamotho breaks down in tears as she appeals to her kids to shun drugs

Popular content creator and mother Virginia Wangari has broken down in tears while making an emotional appeal to her children to stay away from alcohol and drugs as they celebrated her birthday in a colourful ceremony.
In a new video shared on TikTok on Friday, July 31, 2026, from her birthday party, Wangari thanked her children for standing by her and described them as the pillars who had supported her throughout her life.
She became emotional as she reflected on the size of her family and the journey they had shared, saying she could not imagine what her life would have been like without her children.
She also thanked God for blessing her with her children and a big home, describing the occasion as a reminder of how far she had come.
“On a day like today, see what the Lord has done. He gave me all these children I have and, on top of that, He has blessed me with a big mansion,” Wangari said.
The mother of 12 praised her children for understanding her and standing firmly by her side, describing them as an important source of strength in her life.
“The God I pray to is a commander. I give all thanks to my children for understanding me. They have been my pillars. I do not know how life would be if it were not for them,” she said.
Wangari then turned her attention to her children and used the emotional moment to remind them of how deeply she loved them.
She said she wanted all her children to know that they remained an important part of her life and that she was grateful for everything they had done for her.
“Let them know that I love them so much. And today, I am so emotional,” she added.
However, the birthday celebration took an emotional turn when Wangari began speaking about an issue she said she strongly opposed: alcohol and drug use.
The content creator said she was a servant of God and revealed that there was one thing she particularly disliked, adding that God was also aware of her strong feelings towards it.
She identified drugs, and alcohol in particular, as something she hated because of the damage she had seen substance abuse cause to people’s lives.
“I am a servant of God. There is something I hate very much, and God also knows that I hate it. The thing is drugs. Alcohol, in particular, I hate it because I have seen it ruin many people,” she said.
Wangari then made a direct appeal to her children, asking them to leave alcohol and drugs alone.
She said she wanted to use the opportunity, in front of her children and the people gathered to celebrate her, to make it clear that she did not want to see them engage in substance abuse.
“I am begging you now, my kids, now that I am in front of many people and of God also, please leave alcohol alone because it is bad. And all drugs used are bad. Alcohol is bad because it also affects the liver,” she said.
The emotional mother also spoke about her personal decision to avoid alcohol and drugs throughout her life, saying she had never consumed alcohol despite growing up and raising a large family.
Wangari attributed her health and ability to raise her 12 children to the lifestyle choices she made when she was younger.
She said she had always prayed to God and had never touched alcohol, adding that she had also never used family planning.
“Even when I was young, I was praying to God and I have never touched alcohol. And I was able to sire the 12 of you because I was healthy and never touched drugs and never used family planning,” she said.
Several of her children have also become popular on the internet in their own right, making the Wangari family a recognisable name among Kenyan social media audiences.
Her daughter Nyawira Kamotho is also known for her religious work and serves as a deaconess at Pastor Kanyari’s church, while Young Blood Kamotho is among the family’s best-known online personalities.
