Mugithi icon and one-man guitarist Waithaka wa Jane has vowed to stand with Muthoni Babytop after she revealed her life was under threat following claims that her personal details were exposed online.

In a Facebook post on Sunday, June 14, 2026, Waithaka declared that he fully stands with Babytop during the ordeal and will support her through the situation.

He also issued a strong message of loyalty, affirming that Babytop is “his” and insisting that he would not abandon her during what he described as a difficult moment.

“Kikuyu ladies don’t sleep with boys. I am a fighter. We are not jealous but generous. We are the ones who were there from back then, and we are still here. This lady is mine,” he wrote.

In her statement, Muthoni revealed that she had received thousands of missed calls and messages but assured the public that she was safe. However, she expressed deep concern that her mobile number and location had been exposed online.

“Just woke up and found that I have thousands of phone calls and messages. I’m fine, thank you. My mobile number and location were exposed yesterday by Moses Kuria on his WhatsApp status and social media pages,” she wrote.

She further claimed that a popular Mount Kenya politician had shared her phone number and location on social media, an act she said had left her questioning how such sensitive personal information was accessed and distributed.

Babytop questioned whether she was being treated as a suspect or criminal, saying she did not understand why her private data had been circulated in such a manner.

She called on authorities to investigate the matter and provide clear answers on whether tracking tools or official systems had been used inappropriately.

“My question is to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations – DCI, who are the custodians of the tracking gadgets! Why would you track My Mobile number and location and then report it? Am I a terrorist, criminal, Suspect?” she wrote.

She also raised concerns over what she termed selective exposure of personal information, noting that while authorities often publish details of criminals or suspects, she had never seen ordinary individuals’ phone numbers and location data publicly shared in that way.

Babytop went on to appeal to security agencies and relevant government offices to take up the matter, insisting that her safety and privacy had been compromised and that she needed protection and accountability.

“And if Yes! Is he the DCI officer who is supposed to arrest me, or is he your HITMAN??? I have seen you post the faces of criminals, terrorists, etc. on your social media pages, but I haven’t seen you expose their mobile phone numbers, ID numbers or location data… Well, I am now waiting for the “so-called” officer to do his job,” she lamented.
