Vindee opens up on how his brother was stranded in Qatar after job scam

Content creator and streamer Vindee has opened up about a difficult experience involving his younger brother, revealing that the family allegedly lost money after a promised job opportunity in Qatar failed to materialise.
In a statement shared on his Instagram stories on Monday, July 21, 2026, Vindee claimed an agent misled his sister with promises of securing employment for his younger brother before sending him to Qatar.
According to Vindee, the promised job never came through, leaving his brother stranded in a foreign country for weeks as the family’s concerns grew.
Vindee recounts family’s ordeal
Explaining what happened, Vindee said his younger brother remained in Qatar for about two weeks without getting the employment he had travelled for.
He claimed the situation only changed after his sister demanded that their brother be returned to Kenya before his visa expired.”There is an agent operating under another person who conned my sister by lying that he would help my younger brother get work in Qatar,” Vindee wrote.
He added that, “My brother suffered for two weeks in Qatar until the visa was almost expired, and my sister demanded that my little brother should be sent back to Kenya.”
His post highlighted the emotional toll the experience had on the family as they tried to ensure their brother returned home safely.
Claims others are facing similar situations
Beyond sharing his family’s experience, Vindee alleged that other Kenyans could also be facing similar challenges after travelling abroad in search of employment.
He claimed some job seekers had been placed in accommodation in Qatar without receiving the jobs they had been promised. “These people have placed others in rooms in Qatar and they are suffering there,” he stated.
Although Vindee did not disclose the identity of the alleged agent, he appealed for accountability and called for the money paid by his sister to be refunded. “Please pay back my sister’s money as soon as possible,” he wrote.
Warning to Kenyans seeking jobs abroad
Vindee’s remarks have renewed conversations around the importance of verifying overseas recruitment agencies before making payments or travelling for work opportunities.
Every year, many Kenyans seek employment abroad in the hope of improving their livelihoods. While many secure legitimate opportunities, authorities have repeatedly cautioned job seekers to confirm that recruitment agencies are licensed and that job offers are genuine before committing money or leaving the country.
The content creator’s experience serves as another reminder of the risks that can arise when overseas job arrangements are not properly verified.
His statement also sparked discussions online, with many social media users urging families to carry out thorough background checks before engaging agents who promise employment abroad.
Others encouraged those seeking jobs outside Kenya to work only with recognised recruitment agencies and ensure all travel and employment documents are verified before departure.
