Vijana Barubaru member Mwanaa has shared an emotional tribute mourning the death of his mother.
According to his post shared on his Instagram page, on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, the award-winning rapper and songwriter opened up about grief, love, and the pain of losing her mother.
In the post, he described the day as the saddest of his life while struggling to come to terms with the loss.
“Saddest day of my life. I need one more lunch date. I need to say kwaheri properly. I can’t do life without you,” he wrote.
Pain of sudden separation
The viral hit song ‘Nakupenda and Sasa Hivi‘ artist, Mwanaa, expressed disbelief over the timing of his mother’s passing, saying he wished he had been given a chance to say a proper goodbye. He reflected on how difficult it has become to imagine life without her presence.

He added that he felt overwhelmed by the reality of her absence and questioned the sudden change in their lives.
The singer also spoke about the plans they had shared, noting that what once felt like future hopes now only remain as memories he is trying to hold on to.
“We have so many beautiful plans now; I’m trying to turn them into memories,” he stated.
