Tiktoker Gadwilliam Kiragu says silence, not boarding schools, is the biggest danger facing children
By Paulette Mboga, June 5, 2026TikToker Gadwilliam Kiragu has spoken out about issues affecting children, arguing that the biggest problem is not boarding schools but the silence surrounding challenges they face.
On Friday, June 5, 2026, he said parents, teachers and the government all have a role to play in protecting children.
“The most dangerous thing we are doing to our children is not the boarding schools. It is the silence,” Gadwilliam Kiragu said.
He explained that the silence he is referring to comes from different groups in society. According to him, some parents fail to ask important questions, while some teachers are too exhausted to pay close attention to what children may be going through.

“The silence of parents who don’t ask. The silence of teachers who are too tired to care,” Gadwilliam Kiragu said.
Kiragu also directed criticism at the government. He argued that leaders can make changes, but are not doing enough to address the concerns being raised.
“The silence of a government that has the power to change this but chooses to do nothing. Enough!!” Gadwilliam Kiragu said.
Concerns over children’s well-being
Kiragu said society has become heavily focused on preparing children for the future while overlooking the challenges they face today. He explained that protecting children in the present should be given equal attention.
“We are so focused on building a future for our children that we forgot to protect their present,” Gadwilliam Kiragu said.

He expressed concern about the situation in schools and suggested that children are experiencing difficulties that require urgent attention. According to him, the warning signs are already visible and should not be ignored.
“The schools are burning. The children are crying,” Gadwilliam Kiragu said.
Kiragu also questioned the response from the government to the issues affecting children. He said he is troubled by what he described as a continuation of normal activities despite growing concerns.
“And the government is saying normal program continues,” Gadwilliam Kiragu said.
The content creator maintained that the conversation should focus on the well-being of children and whether enough is being done to address their concerns. He argued that ignoring problems will not make them disappear.
“How long will we keep pretending everything is okay?” Gadwilliam Kiragu asked.
