Kenyan content creator Thee Pluto has urged men to take charge of their mental health, warning that they should not always expect someone to come to their rescue when life becomes difficult.

In a post shared on Thursday, September 3, 2026, Thee Pluto reflected on a conversation he had with a friend about how men and women respond differently after breakups, divorce and other major life changes.

‘Men suffer more’

Thee Pluto said his friend observed that many men tend to struggle after relationships end, while women may sometimes appear to recover and move forward.

“Sometimes men tend to suffer more after something happens. You see, there is no one who comes to save them, not even the fellow men,” he said.

He explained that men are often expected to remain strong, even when they are dealing with emotional pain. According to him, the lack of support can make it difficult for some men to recover from major setbacks.

The content creator encouraged men to understand that they have to take responsibility for their own wellbeing instead of waiting for someone else to notice that they are struggling.

“As a man, always do. There will never be anyone, anybody who is coming to save you. So you have yourself,” Thee Pluto said.

Mentally in shape

Thee Pluto also encouraged men to prepare themselves mentally for difficult periods in life, noting that mental fitness is just as important as physical wellbeing.

“If it is about eating that, there happens mtu wangu. Weingia mtu wangu. Weingia mtu wangu. Be in shape, and I’m not meaning physically. Be in shape mentally,” he said.

He urged men to ensure that their minds remain in a healthy state, particularly when dealing with stressful experiences.

“Ensure at all times akili yako mazee inapiga, inapiga fiti,” he added.

Thee Pluto warned that failing to address mental health struggles can have serious consequences. He noted that a man can move from emotional instability and depression to finding himself in increasingly difficult circumstances before he even realises what is happening.

His message ultimately encouraged men to take their mental health seriously, seek support when necessary and prepare themselves to navigate difficult seasons rather than suffering silently.
