Stevo Simple Boy shares words of encouragement advising upcoming DJs and artists
By Katemarthason Okudo, July 26, 2026Kenyan rapper and musician Stevo Simple Boy has shared a message of encouragement for upcoming DJs and musicians, urging them not to give up despite facing criticism, rejection and other challenges in the entertainment industry.
In a video posted on his Instagram page on Saturday, July 25, 2026, the singer acknowledged that the creative journey is not always easy, saying many young talents experience setbacks before finding success.
‘Don’t lose hope’
Addressing his followers, Stevo said aspiring entertainers should remain focused even when they are criticised or discouraged by others.
He noted that every creative faces difficult moments but encouraged them to keep working towards their dreams instead of giving up. “I have some advice for upcoming DJs and artists. I know there are many ups and downs, challenges, criticism and insults, but don’t lose hope,” Stevo said.

His message comes at a time when conversations around the pressure faced by new entertainers have dominated social media.
Encourages DJs to support local music
Stevo also appealed to DJs to include his songs in their playlists, saying supporting local music benefits both artists and the entertainment industry.
He further encouraged fellow musicians to consider collaborating with him.”To all DJs, if you want blessings to come your way, play my songs in your mixes. And to fellow artists, if you want your star to shine brighter, let’s collaborate,” he added.

Although delivered in his signature humorous style, the singer’s remarks centred on perseverance and supporting one another within the industry.
Remarks come after Pritty Vishy’s emotional posts
Stevo’s message came just days after digital content creator Pritty Vishy announced that she was taking a break from social media following criticism over her decision to venture into DJing.
Pritty revealed that the backlash surrounding her new career had left her emotionally exhausted and overwhelmed. She explained that she never expected her decision to become a DJ to attract so much negativity or reopen old wounds with people she once considered close.

Earlier, she had also asked critics to allow her time to learn, insisting that every successful DJ starts as a beginner before gaining experience. While Stevo did not mention Pritty Vishy by name, his advice echoed a similar message of resilience, reminding upcoming creatives that criticism is often part of the journey and should not stop them from pursuing their goals.
His remarks have since attracted reactions from fans, with many agreeing that patience, consistency and determination remain important qualities for anyone trying to build a career in the entertainment industry.
