Sam Kitiki makes fresh appeal for financial support amid GIST cancer battle

Celebrity barber Sam Kitiki has made a fresh appeal for financial support as he continues to battle gastrointestinal stromal tumour (GIST) cancer,saying his deteriorating health has made it increasingly difficult for him to work and meet his treatment and daily needs.
In a heartfelt message shared on Tuesday, August 11,2026, Kitiki said his health has significantly deteriorated, with frequent collapses affecting his ability to continue working as he previously did.
“My battle with GIST cancer has become increasingly difficult. My health has deteriorated significantly, and frequent collapses have made it hard for me to continue working as I once did,” Kitiki said.
He also appealed for direct financial assistance, saying any contribution, regardless of the amount, would make a difference in his ongoing treatment and care.

Additionally, he added that his health challenges have also affected his barbershop business, which he relies on to generate income for his treatment and daily expenses.
Kitiki explained that he had tried to keep the business going while encouraging members of the public to support it, but the financial challenges had continued to increase.
“Unfortunately, my barbershop is no longer generating enough income to support my treatment and daily needs. I have tried my best to keep going and to encourage people to support the business, but the challenges have continued to grow,” he explained.
Other forms of support
Kitiki appealed to friends, family, fans and other well-wishers who are in a position to support his barbershop to visit the business and help him generate an income.
“I am sharing this message with humility and hope. If you are in a position to visit and support my barbershop, it would mean a great deal to me.” he said, urging those who can to stand with him during the difficult period.
Kitiki said supporting his barbershop would not only help sustain the business but also assist him in meeting some of the financial demands associated with his health situation.
The fresh appeal comes as Kitiki continues to deal with the challenges associated with his GIST cancer battle.
He said frequent health episodes have made it difficult for him to maintain his usual work routine, leaving him increasingly dependent on support from those around him.
Despite the challenges, Kitiki expressed gratitude to those who have continued to stand by him through the difficult period.
