Rachel Ruto reveals her greatest blessing as she celebrates Charlene for marrying Isaiah Yunge

First Lady Rachel Ruto has celebrated her daughter Charlene Ruto’s engagement to Tanzanian tech entrepreneur Isaiah Yunge, describing watching her daughter grow into the woman she is today as one of her greatest blessings.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, August 8, 2026, Rachel shared an emotional message to Charlene following her traditional Kalenjin engagement and farewell ceremony, known as Koito ak Chaik, held at Intonna Heritage Farm in Kilgoris, Narok County.
Rachel filled the message with a mother’s blessing as Charlene begins a new chapter of her life, praying that God would guide, protect and bless the home she is set to build with Yunge.
“My dear Charlene, today I bless you with a heart full of love, gratitude, and joy. Watching you grow into the beautiful woman you are has been one of my greatest blessings,” Rachel wrote.
She told Charlene that the new chapter came with her prayers for a marriage marked by love, patience, wisdom, peace and lasting happiness.
“As you begin this new chapter, may God go before you, guide your steps, protect you, and bless the home you are about to build. May your marriage be filled with love, patience, wisdom, peace, and lasting joy,” she added.
Rachel also invoked a biblical blessing over her daughter, praying that God would continue to watch over her as she embarks on the new phase of her life.
“May the Lord bless you, keep you, and make His face shine upon you,” she wrote.
The First Lady ended the message with an intimate declaration of her affection for Charlene before congratulating her on the milestone.
“I love you dearly, my daughter. Congratulations!” Rachel said.
Charlene’s engagement to Yunge was marked by the high-profile Koito ceremony, which brought together prominent figures from Kenya and Tanzania as the two families formally celebrated the union.
He has previously been recognised on the Forbes Africa 30 Under 30 list and received the Queen’s Young Leaders Award in 2018.
The ceremony was held at Intonna Heritage Farm, President William Ruto’s family ranch in Kilgoris Town, Narok County, with guests arriving under tight security and privacy arrangements.
The occasion also attracted prominent political and public figures from Kenya and Tanzania, adding to the significance of the family celebration.
