Pritty Vishy: Watching the Polygamist with man you forgave for cheating must be tough

Kenyan content creator Pritty Vishy has reacted to the viral Netflix series The Polygamist, adding her voice to the ongoing online conversations about the show that has gripped viewers across Africa.
Taking to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, Vishy shared a short but sharp observation about how the drama hits differently depending on people’s real-life relationship experiences.
She noted that it must be unsettling for a woman to watch the viral show with a cheating partner.
“Watching the polygamist with a man you forgave for cheating must be so tough,” Pritty Vishy stated.

The series, which premiered on June 12, 2026, follows the glamorous but crumbling life of Joyce Gomora, a social media darling whose “perfect marriage” falls apart after her husband’s infidelity opens the door to betrayal, revenge and emotional chaos. The 22-episode drama, adapted from Sue Nyathi’s novel, has been praised for its high drama, scandalous twists, and unpredictable storytelling that keeps viewers glued episode after episode.
What has made the show particularly viral is its intense portrayal of relationships, cheating scandals, and power struggles within wealthy families’ storylines that viewers say feel uncomfortably real, messy and addictive.

The show’s central character, Joyce Gomora, played by Gugu Gumede, has also become a fan favourite for her powerful portrayal of a woman trying to hold her life together while everything around her collapses. The emotional weight of her character, combined with the show’s dramatic storytelling, has been one of the key reasons viewers say they cannot stop watching.
