Pritty Vishy explains why Andrew Kibe’s remarks about Stevo Simple Boy hurt her

By , June 30, 2026

Digital content creator Purity Vishenwa, widely known as Pritty Vishy, has opened up about why Andrew Kibe’s controversial remarks about musician Stevo Simple Boy deeply affected her, saying they reminded her of the body-shaming she has endured over the years.

Speaking about the controversy, during an interview with Iko Nini podcast on Tuesday, June 30,2026, Pritty Vishy said she sympathised with Stevo because she has experienced similar ridicule from online trolls and critics.

“I really felt bad because I have been there, and I am still body-shamed and bullied, but at least this year is not so much like they used to be,” Pritty Vishy said.

“My body-shaming was mostly about my weight and teeth the way they were.”

Pritty on Dr Ofweneke’s fault

She also criticised the way the interview was handled, arguing that Dr Ofweneke should have intervened instead of appearing to encourage the conversation.

“The worst part was the interviewer, Dr Ofweneke, laughing; it was like he was hyping him, but if he could have shut him down, it could not have escalated,” she added.

According to Pritty Vishy, the production team also had an opportunity to prevent the controversial remarks from reaching the public during the editing process.

“Afterwards matters. When they were editing, they knew that part was there; ni yeye alikuwa aseme itolewe ama ibaki,” Pritty Vishy stated.

Stevo on Kibe’s remarks

Stevo Simple Boy also responded to comments made by Kibe, where he defended his family and criticised the inclusion of his child in the discussion.

The rapper said disagreements should remain between adults and that children should never be targeted because of their parents or physical appearance.

He further expressed disappointment over the remarks and urged Kibe to focus on him instead of involving an innocent child.

According to the rapper, he has never had control over how he was born but has always worked hard to build a respectable life and provide for his family.

“Andrew Kibe, kama una tatizo na mimi, zungumza kuhusu mimi. Lakini usimhusishe mtoto wangu ambaye hana kosa lolote,” Stevo wrote.

Additionally, Stevo went on to stress that every child deserves respect and should never be looked down upon because of their appearance or the circumstances surrounding their birth.

“Mimi nitaendelea kusonga mbele. Mungu ndiye hakimu wa wote.
