Oga Obinna urges Kenyans to stop insulting each other over political differences
By Katemarthason Okudo, July 5, 2026Media personality Oga Obinna has called on Kenyans to stop insulting and fighting each other because of political differences. In a video shared on his Instagram page on Saturday, July 4, 2026, Obinna said people should learn to separate political opinions from personal relationships.
He explained that he has friends in both government and opposition circles, even when he does not agree with all their ideas or decisions. According to Obinna, disagreement is normal in politics, but it should not lead to hatred, abuse or disrespect among citizens.
Speak on issues, not insults
Obinna said he does not support every action taken by politicians he knows or likes. However, he believes criticism should focus on public issues instead of personal attacks.
He said citizens have a right to question leaders when things are not working, including matters affecting roads, schools, teachers and police services.
“I may not agree with some of the things they do, and I will speak about them. If roads need to be improved, schools need attention, teachers need support or the police need to do better, I will say it,” he said.

The content creator added that people should also acknowledge leaders when they do something good. “If there is something good happening, I will also speak about it,” he added.
Politics affects everyone
Obinna noted that politics affects every Kenyan, whether they are parents, workers, business owners or young people trying to build their lives.
He said he has politicians he supports because he connects with their ideas, but that does not mean he should insult someone who chooses a different leader.
“Above everything else, I am a Kenyan and a registered voter. Every political decision made in this country affects me directly,” he said.
He encouraged Kenyans to make their own choices during elections and allow others to do the same without creating unnecessary conflict.
Respect should remain
Obinna said people should not turn against one another simply because they support different candidates.

He argued that citizens eventually face the same effects when leaders fail to deliver on their promises, regardless of who they voted for.
“There should never be a day when I insult you because you support one politician and do not support another. That is immature,” he said.
The entertainer also said he would never fight someone over their political choice. He explained that he has maintained friendships with politicians from different sides of the political divide. They can meet, talk, play golf, have coffee or discuss business while still holding different views.
Obinna said such relationships show that political differences do not have to destroy respect between people. “We may disagree on certain things, but our respect for each other remains,” he concluded..
