Nick Mutuma pays tribute to dead uncle, reveals burial programme

Kenyan actor and media personality Nick Mutuma has paid tribute to his late uncle, CPA John Samuel Rungu, following his death.
Mutuma shared the funeral announcement on his Instagram Story on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, alongside a brief but heartfelt message mourning his uncle.
“Rest well uncle JS,” Mutuma wrote, adding dove and prayer emojis to the tribute.
The post was shared today as Rungu’s family continues to make arrangements for his final send-off. According to the funeral announcement, Rungu passed away on August 15, 2026, aged 85.

Mutuma kept his message brief, choosing to honour his uncle with a simple farewell rather than a lengthy statement.
His Instagram Story featured the family’s death and funeral announcement, which included a photograph of Rungu and details about his life and family.
The tribute gives Mutuma’s followers a glimpse into the family’s period of mourning as relatives and friends prepare to gather and celebrate Rungu’s life.
The actor did not share further details about his uncle’s death in the Instagram Story, instead using the short message to express his grief and bid him farewell.
Family announces funeral arrangements
According to the funeral announcement, the funeral service will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Mwanika Methodist Church.
The service will be followed by his burial at his residence in Kithoka, Meru County.
The family has appealed to relatives, friends and well-wishers to continue offering their prayers, presence, love and support during the difficult period.
Rungu was identified in the announcement as the husband of the late Stella Muthoni Rungu of Kithoka Location, Meru County.
