Mulamwah reacts to viral AI skit portraying him as Sonia

The skit, which has been circulating on TikTok, features several familiar faces from Kenya’s entertainment industry, with artificial intelligence (AI) technology used to transform male celebrities into female characters.
Among those featured are comedians Njugush and Terence Creative, Gen Z Goliath, Gen Z wa Bungoma, musician Stevo Simple Boy and comedian DJ Shiti.
In the skit, Mulamwah, Njugush and Terence are portrayed as women and given the female names Sonia, Shiro and Terry, respectively, as they act out a storyline revolving around infidelity and betrayal.
Mulamwah reacted to the unusual portrayal, expressing amusement at the way the creators had digitally transformed him into Sonia.
“Eeeh Jamani, mko na mchezo sana nani aliunda hiii sasa,” Mulamwah said on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.
His reaction came as the AI-generated skit continued attracting attention on TikTok, with viewers amused by the celebrities’ digitally altered appearances and the storyline built around them.
AI transforming entertainment
AI-generated skits have increasingly become a creative tool for online content creators, allowing them to digitally alter people’s appearances, voices and other elements of a video to create fictional scenarios.
The technology has also made it possible for creators to place recognisable personalities in situations they may not have actually participated in, adding a new dimension to comedy and entertainment content shared online.
In the viral skit, AI is used to reimagine the male celebrities as women while retaining recognisable features, allowing viewers to identify the personalities despite their altered appearances.
The use of familiar celebrities in AI-generated fictional scenarios has also contributed to the content’s shareability, as audiences are drawn to seeing how well-known personalities have been digitally reimagined.
For Mulamwah, the transformation into Sonia became another unexpected AI creation involving a Kenyan celebrity, prompting him to publicly question the person behind the skit.
The comedian’s reaction has added to the attention surrounding the TikTok video as Kenyans continue engaging with AI-assisted entertainment and the creative possibilities it offers content creators.
