Mosiria seeks help to rescue another man living on a tree
By Valerian Khakayi, August 5, 2026Nairobi County’s Chief Officer for Customer Engagement and Citizen Service, Geoffrey Mosiria,appealed to the public for help after spotting another man living on top of a tree, months after successfully rescuing a different man who had been surviving in similar conditions.
Taking to his social media pages on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, Mosiria shared a video showing the man inside the makeshift structure built on top of a tree near a roadside. The small shack, constructed using sticks, and rags, appeared to be serving as the man’s home.
Sharing the footage, Mosiria called on Kenyans to help identify the location so that he could organise a rescue.
“Naona kuna tree man mwingine hapa. Ni wapi tumrescue?” he wrote.
Jogoo Road tree man
Mosiria’s latest appeal comes months after he rescued a man who had been living on a tree along Jogoo Road in Nairobi.
The man, whose unusual living situation had drawn widespread attention online, was safely brought down following Mosiria’s intervention before being taken to a rehabilitation centre, where he received medical attention, counselling and psychosocial support.
After completing rehabilitation, the man underwent vocational training before securing employment, marking a remarkable turnaround from life on the streets.
In a later update, Mosiria revealed that the former “tree man” had successfully rebuilt his life and was earning a living through his new job.
He thanked everyone who had supported the rescue and rehabilitation efforts, saying the transformation demonstrated how compassion and collective action can help restore dignity to vulnerable members of society.
“Mnakumbuka Tree Man? He is the man I rescued last year along Jogoo Road. He had built an illegal structure on top of a tree and was using it as his home. I encountered him while conducting environmental supervision and decided to engage him to understand why he had chosen to live in such conditions,” Mosiria said.
The county official has become widely recognised for leading rescue missions involving homeless individuals and people struggling with mental health and substance abuse challenges across Nairobi.
He frequently documents the rescues on social media to encourage public participation and to connect those in need with rehabilitation services.
With his latest appeal, Mosiria hopes to locate the man seen living atop the tree and help him access the support needed to begin rebuilding his life, just as he did with the first man whose story inspired many Kenyans.
