Millicent Omanga shares heartfelt letter from a student supporting her campaign

In a post shared on her Instagram page on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, Omanga revealed that the letter was written by a student she met while visiting a girls’ high school.
The handwritten note wished her success in her bid for the Nairobi Woman Representative seat and thanked her for supporting girls through her various initiatives.
A letter that touched her heart
Alongside a photo of the letter and a handmade key holder, Omanga admitted that the thoughtful gift left a lasting impression on her.
She said the student’s message was more than words, a reminder of the importance of serving with purpose.
“Some letters become lifelong reminders. This handmade key holder and her heartfelt words will stay with me. They remind me that every girl we reach is a reason to keep going. Service with purpose. Hope with action,” Omanga wrote.
Schoolgirl wishes her success
In the letter, the student encouraged Omanga to continue pursuing her leadership ambitions and expressed hope that she would bring positive change to Nairobi if elected.
The learner also thanked Omanga for supporting girls and promised to encourage others to vote for her. “I just wanted to wish you well in your career of vying for the Woman Representative of Nairobi. I wish that you will change Nairobi County for the better. Continue helping girls,” the student wrote.
She went on to assure Omanga of her support. “I promise that I will tell everyone to vote for you as our Mama County of Nairobi,” the letter read.
The student also explained the meaning behind the handmade gift she presented to the politician. “I also gave you this gift. You should put it on your keys so that you remember us. Much love,” she added.
A message centred on young girls
Omanga has often used her social media platforms to highlight programmes that support girls through mentorship, education and empowerment.
Her latest post reflected that commitment, with the former senator saying the letter served as a reminder that every young girl reached through such efforts represents a reason to continue serving.
Omanga said the letter carried a message she intends to hold onto as she continues engaging with Nairobi residents during her political journey.
