Meru TikToker who was at scene of tragic school bus crash that killed 2 pupils speaks out

A Meru-based TikToker has shared an emotional account of the aftermath of a tragic school bus accident that claimed the lives of two pupils and left several others injured.
In a video shared on the platform on Thursday, July 30, 2026, the TikToker, who uses the handle @scorpion_charsobissss, said he had witnessed a painful scene following the accident involving a bus carrying learners from Hebesha Academy in Tigania East, Meru County.
In an emotional account, he said the tragedy was the kind of pain that no community should ever be forced to endure, as he reflected on the impact of the accident on the pupils, their parents and the wider school fraternity.
“I have witnessed pain today that no community should ever go through,” he wrote.
The TikToker said the bus, which belonged to the Mugambi Imanyara Community Foundation, was involved in the accident at Nguumba, leaving several Hebesha Academy pupils injured and requiring medical attention.
He said the injured learners were taken to different hospitals across Meru County for treatment as families and members of the community struggled to come to terms with the tragedy.
“A bus belonging to the Mugambi Imanyara Community Foundation was involved in a tragic accident at Nguumba. Several of our Hebesha Academy children are injured and are currently receiving treatment in various hospitals within Meru,” he added.
The TikToker also spoke about the uncertainty surrounding the number of casualties at the time of his post, saying that while some pupils had been injured, others had lost their lives, with the final number yet to be confirmed.
“Others we have allegedly lost, and the number is yet to be confirmed,” he wrote.
In his message, the TikToker expressed deep sympathy for the parents and families affected by the tragedy, saying his heart was breaking for everyone whose lives had been touched by the accident.
He also extended his thoughts to every child who was involved in the crash, recognising the physical and emotional pain they were experiencing in the aftermath of the incident.
“My heart breaks for the parents, the families, and every child affected. But even in this darkness, we must hold on to hope,” he added.

Despite the tragedy, the TikToker urged the community not to lose hope, calling on people to stand together during the difficult period.
He appealed to members of the public to pray for the pupils who were injured and were still receiving treatment in hospitals across Meru.
He also called for support for the medical facilities handling the injured learners, while urging the community to stand with families who had lost their loved ones in the accident.
“Let us pray for the injured. Let us support the hospitals. Let us stand with the bereaved. God sees, God heals, and God restores,” he wrote.
His emotional account came after the accident on Wednesday night, July 29, 2026, along the Mikinduri-Kunati road, as pupils from Hebesha Academy were returning home from a school trip.
Two primary school pupils were reported to have died following the crash, while several other learners sustained injuries and were taken to various health facilities for treatment.
The tragedy has since left families and the Tigania school community mourning as authorities and residents respond to the accident.
