Lulu Hassan emotional as woman remembers her from school after more than 30 years

TV presenter Lulu Hassan has shared a heartwarming story after unexpectedly reuniting with a woman who helped her during one of the most important moments of her childhood more than three decades ago.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, July 19, 2026, just hours after gracing a fundraiser at AIC Tudor in Mvita Sub-County, Lulu revealed that she met a woman who once ran a small shop opposite Tudor Junior Academy, the school where she studied.
According to the award-winning journalist, the encounter quickly turned into an emotional trip down memory lane after the woman reminded her of an incident she had completely forgotten.
Lulu explained that during her final primary school examination, she had walked into the woman’s shop looking for an HB pencil, unaware that the simple interaction would remain etched in the shopkeeper’s memory for more than 30 years.
“Time may pass, but kindness is never forgotten,” Lulu wrote.
She recalled being surprised when the woman smiled before reminding her about the day she nervously walked into the shop seeking help.
“After more than 30 years, I met a woman who once owned a small shop opposite our school (TUDOR JUNIOR ACADEMY). She smiled and reminded me of something I had completely forgotten,” Lulu shared.

The journalist revealed that the woman vividly remembered her walking into the shop during her final examination to ask for an HB pencil.
“During my final examination, I had walked into her shop and asked for an HB pencil. She remembered that moment as if it had happened yesterday, saying that I was super nervous,” she wrote.
Lulu admitted she was deeply touched that such a simple encounter had remained fresh in the woman’s mind after more than three decades.
“I was amazed that after all these years, she still remembered a simple request from a young student,” she added.
Reflecting on the encounter, Lulu said the reunion reminded her that even the smallest gestures can leave lasting impressions on people’s lives.
She noted that acts of kindness often outlive the moments in which they happen, even when those who receive them have long forgotten.
“It reminded me that even the smallest acts of kindness can leave lasting impressions. Life has a beautiful way of bringing people back into our paths, carrying memories that time could never erase,” Lulu concluded.
