Rapper Kennedy Ombima, popularly known as King Kaka, has announced the death of his long-time house manager, Christine.

In an emotional Facebook post shared on the night of Sunday, August 16, 2026, the ‘Wajinga Nyinyi’ hitmaker revealed that announcing Christine’s death was one of the most difficult posts he had been forced to make in recent days.

However, he said that life always has a way of reminding people about eternity, leaving him with no option but to announce her untimely demise.

“Some posts will be difficult, but life has a way of reminding us,” he wrote.

King Kaka further thanked Christine for going above and beyond for his family, saying she had done the best she could for his household.

At the same time, the rapper bid Christine an emotional farewell while expressing his heartfelt appreciation for everything she had done for him and his family.

“Thank you for all you did for us. May peace find your family. Goodbye Christine, and thank you,” he added.

King Kaka then shared a black-and-white photograph of Christine, which appeared to have been taken in a professional studio, in which she looked happy while sporting a new hairstyle.

In the photograph, Christine was also wearing a jumper from King Kaka’s music label, Kaka Empire.

Accepting death

In a similar development, the Eastlands rapper reflected on one of the darkest moments of his life, revealing that he reached a point where he accepted he was going to die during the mysterious illness that left him hospitalised in 2021.

Speaking during an interview on Monday, June 29, 2026, the musician described the health battle as one of several defining moments in his life, but said it stands out because it completely changed his perspective on success, family, and life itself.

Asked to name the one moment that transformed him, King Kaka said his near-death experience remains the closest example.

“The closest one is me dying,” he said.

The rapper recalled how his condition deteriorated to the point where he believed there was no hope of survival.

He said he decided to leave home for the hospital because he did not want to die in front of his family.

“It reached a point where I said, ‘It’s cool. I think this is it. I’m going to die.’ I accepted it and looked for a hospital because I didn’t want to die in the house,” he said.

King Kaka explained that, surprisingly, he felt a sense of peace after arriving at the hospital.

“When I got to the hospital, my soul relaxed because I was like, ‘Now I can go in peace.’ I guess God had other plans,” he added.

During the interview, he watched a video recorded while he was critically ill and admitted it reminded him just how fragile life can be.

Reflecting on the experience, King Kaka said the illness taught him that wealth, fame and success have little value when one’s health is failing.

“I had money, I was famous, but my body was failing. At that point, money, fame and success meant nothing,” he said.
