Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu has opened up about the end of her relationship with Mugithi musician Samidoh, revealing that their breakup happened quietly without the drama many people expected.

Speaking during an interview on Friday, August 7, 2026, Nyamu said the separation did not involve public fights, accusations or a bitter fallout, explaining that both of them had reached a point where they accepted the relationship had come to an end.

“We didn’t have a conversation about breaking up. We didn’t fight. I think quietly we had both accepted,” Nyamu said.

She explained that the breakup was not caused by a major conflict, but rather happened naturally over time.

Peaceful separation

Nyamu described the breakup as a process where both parties eventually realised they needed to move on.

“I always tell people, if you have reached that place, forgive each other and move on. Don’t wait for someone to leave you,” she said.

She added that their separation did not involve the public battles often witnessed in celebrity relationships.

“There was no motivational speaking, no bashing, no following someone with words, no blocking,” Nyamu said.

According to the senator, the relationship ended without hostility, despite the public interest surrounding them.

“It just died a natural death. Like old age. It didn’t die because of a disease,” she added.

No public drama

Nyamu said many people expected their breakup to turn into a major public issue because of the attention their relationship had received.

However, she said they chose to handle the situation privately and with maturity.

“We didn’t have drama. We didn’t have counsellors coming in, parents coming in or people trying to help us,” she said.

She explained that both of them moved forward without publicly attacking each other or trying to prove a point.

Nyamu said the experience changed how she views relationships, noting that people should understand when it is time to let go.

“Sometimes there is a point where you just know. You have reached there,” she said.

She added that not every breakup needs to end in conflict, saying some relationships can come to a close peacefully when both people accept the reality.
