Kanyari reveals plan to anoint 10 youths to carry on his ministry as he transitions to politics

Pastor Victor Kanyari has revealed plans to anoint 10 young people to continue his ministry as he prepares to venture into politics.
Speaking during a church service at Salvation Healing Ministry on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, Kanyari said he wants to identify and mentor a group of youths who will carry on his pastoral work and continue spreading the gospel once he shifts his focus to the political arena.
“Nataka ku-anoint vijana kumi ambao nitawaachia anointing yangu waendeleshe u pastor and continue preaching the gospel, because I’m joining politics,” Kanyari said.
The vocal preacher explained that his decision is informed by his belief that politics requires a different kind of engagement and commitment.
Kanyari noted that the political field is often characterised by intense competition and conflict, unlike the church environment where he has spent years ministering to congregants.
“Ninapoingia pande ile yengine ya vita maana huko hakuna amani,” he added.
While he did not disclose when the anointing ceremony would take place or identify the youths he intends to mentor, he maintained that the gospel work must continue even as he embarks on a new chapter in public service.
Political ambitions
Kanyari said he would align himself with the wishes of his followers, signalling a full pivot to the parliamentary race.
He framed the decision as a collective direction taken with his supporters.
The preacher later reinforced his ambition in a public message, making his intentions clear to Kasarani residents.
“Kasarani Constituency, get ready; in 2027 I’m vying for MP Kasarani,” he wrote.
He used the message to rally support and signal readiness for the 2027 contest.
Kanyari also laid out his motivation for entering the race, accusing current leaders of failing residents.
“Nasimama na watu wa Kasarani kwa sababu viongozi ambao wako hawafanyi kazi,” he said, framing his bid as a response to dissatisfaction with leadership in the constituency.
Despite the debate, Kanyari appears determined to proceed with his political journey, insisting that he will leave behind a team of young preachers to ensure his ministry continues serving believers and spreading the Christian faith.
