Kanyari makes major promise to women ahead of Kasarani MP bid

Vocal preacher Victor Kanyari has made a promise to women in Kasarani as he continues to prepare for his bid for the constituency’s Member of Parliament seat in the 2027 General Election.
He said women deserve to be heard and pledged to ensure their voices are reflected in decisions and development if elected.
“The voices of the women of Kasarani have been heard. Your concerns, your dreams, and your determination matter,” Kanyari said on Friday, July 24, 2026.
He explained that he is committed to listening to women and working with them to find practical solutions to the challenges they face. Kanyari said he wants women to have a stronger place in leadership and development within the constituency if he is allowed to serve.
“I am committed to listening and working with you to find practical solutions,” Kanyari said.
Kanyari also said his leadership would focus on ensuring that women are respected and empowered. He added that their views should not only be heard but should also lead to meaningful action that improves their lives.
Pledge ahead of 2027 race
“When entrusted with the responsibility of serving as your MP, I will ensure that women’s voices are not only heard but also reflected in meaningful action and development,” Kanyari said.
He further said he wants Kasarani to become a place where every woman has an opportunity to grow and succeed. According to Kanyari, women should be given equal respect and support as part of the constituency’s development.
“Together, we will build a Kasarani where every woman is respected, empowered, and allowed to thrive,” Kanyari said.
The promise comes as Kanyari continues to outline his plans ahead of the 2027 General Election. The preacher officially declared his intention to contest for the Kasarani Member of Parliament seat, changing his earlier plan to run for the Njiru Ward MCA position.
The announcement was made during a Sunday church service on April 12, 2025, after he asked members of his congregation whether he should contest for the MCA seat or the Kasarani parliamentary seat. The congregation backed the MP position, and Kanyari said he would follow the direction of his supporters.
“Kasarani Constituency, get ready; in 2027 I’m vying for MP Kasarani,” Kanyari said.
He later used the message to make his intentions clear to Kasarani residents and signal that he is ready for the parliamentary race. Kanyari said his decision reflected the collective direction he had taken together with his supporters as he prepares for the 2027 contest.
