Kabugi makes heartfelt appeal to Kenyans after visiting Natalie in hospital

In a Facebook post on Friday, August 8, 2026, Kabugi, who recalled sharing a close bond with Natalie 13 years ago, said he had recently visited her and was struck by the difficult situation she is currently facing.
“13 years ago pale Mzee Wanyama karibu tufanye ndoa, still a very lovely and bubbly soul, but Leah is not okay,” Kabugi wrote.
He then turned his appeal towards Kenyans, urging them to help Natalie raise awareness about endometriosis while also contributing financially towards the treatment she needs.
“Natalie needs you to help her raise awareness on Endo being a crisis,” he wrote.
Kabugi said Natalie is seeking financial assistance to undergo laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis, with the cost of the procedure ranging from Ksh350,000 to more than Ksh1.5 million depending on the severity of the disease and the health facility involved.
“Natalie needs your help financially to undergo laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis, which typically ranges from Ksh350,000 to over Ksh1.5 million, depending heavily on the disease’s severity and the facility,” he wrote.
He also shared Natalie’s M-Pesa details, asking those willing to assist to send their contributions directly to her.
Specialised treatment
Kabugi’s appeal comes as Natalie continues to speak publicly about the physical and financial burden of living with endometriosis, a chronic condition that can cause severe pain and require specialised treatment.
In an update shared on Thursday, August 6, 2026, Natalie highlighted the cost of laparoscopic surgery and explained how the financial burden can become another challenge for people living with the condition.
“Endometriosis surgery range price: Laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis typically ranges from Ksh350,000 to over Ksh1.5 million, depending heavily on the disease’s severity and the facility,” Natalie wrote.
She explained that endometriosis pain can range from manageable cramping and lower-back discomfort to severe pain that can interfere with normal daily activities.
According to Natalie, moderate pain can be sharp or heavy and may require painkillers, heating pads or avoiding strenuous activities.
“Endometriosis Pain Scale: 1–3 (Mild Pain): Manageable, localized cramping or low back twinges. Daily activities are generally unaffected. 4–6 (Moderate Pain): Distracting, sharp, or heavy aching. Requires regular painkillers, heating pads, or skipping strenuous activities,” she explained.
