Jackie Matubia opens up about how her nanny of 6 years left without notice
By Katemarthason Okudo, July 3, 2026Content creator and actress Jackie Matubia has spoken about an unexpected change in her home after a nanny who had worked with her for almost six years left her job.
Matubia shared the update through Instagram stories on Thursday, July 3, 2026, saying the exit came at a time when she believed they had a clear plan for the future.
She explained that the nanny had been expected to leave in December 2026, after they agreed she would begin a business. Instead, the nanny reportedly left earlier than expected and without informing her.
A sudden change at home
The mother of two said she was saddened by how the situation turned out, especially after the years they had spent working together.

Matubia said she had tried to show care and support to the nanny throughout her time in her household.
“My nanny of five years, close to six, has done me badly. No matter how well you treat people, they can still treat you like you meant nothing. Do good and move on,” she said.
The actress said the experience left her feeling let down, even though she had always tried to treat the nanny fairly.
“No matter how kind you are, I have really tried my best,” she added.
The business plan they had discussed
Matubia said the nanny had told her she wanted to stop working as a domestic worker and focus on running her own business.
The actress revealed that she had planned to support the idea by giving her money to help her get started once she retired in December.
“She had saved me so much, and we had agreed that she would retire this year in December. I had planned to give her some money to start her business because she said she wanted to retire and run her own business,” Matubia said.

She also reflected on some of the progress the nanny had made while working with her family. Matubia said she had helped her obtain documents that were important in her life, including a birth certificate and passport.
“I wish her well. I did my best. She came without a birth certificate; she left with a stamped passport and memories,” she said.
New nanny
The actress’s posts received many responses from mothers and followers who shared their own experiences with household workers leaving without warning.
Matubia later thanked those who checked on her, saying their messages showed her that many people had faced similar situations.
“Good morning, my loves. Thank you so much, mothers. I have seen your messages and I have seen that I am not alone, but we move on. That is life,” she said.

She also said the position had already been filled.
“I have seen all of you asking me to employ you. Unfortunately, I have already found a replacement, and I will pray for all of you who are waiting for God to bless you with a job,” she added.
Although the experience left her disappointed, Matubia said she wished her former nanny well as she begins a new chapter.
