‘I’ve been fighting silent battles’ – Jackie Matubia opens up about being bullied
Award-winning actress Jackie Matubia has opened up about being bullied, revealing that she has been going through a difficult emotional period behind the scenes.
In an emotional video shared on her official Instagram account on Monday, December 15, 2025, Jackie said she strongly condemns bullying, noting that the past week has been especially hard for her.

She also addressed critics who continue to attack her online, saying she is done staying silent.
Jackie further expressed pain over being judged and attacked for simply trying to live her life and raise her children.
“One thing I hate, I hate bullies, the past one week, I have been fighting silent battles and am tired, I am so sorry because unasikia vibaya that am a single mother who is just trying, raising my children and living my life,” Matubia said.
“I am a single able mother, na kama unafeel inakukwanza, let me make you famous ndio uonge.”
The actress also questioned where the hatred toward single mothers from fellow women was coming from, saying she did not understand it. She added that the situation had escalated on TikTok, with people paying to get her shadow-banned and even mocking her about how she would sell Christmas trees.
“Na siget hii chuki single mothers from fellow women imetoka wapi… Last week pale Tik Tok hadi wanalipana na shadow banniwa Hadi mnaambiwa nitauza aje Miti (Christmas trees) na sina Mti Aaahh enough is enough!!! Mnikome!!!” Matubia questioned.
Online bully
The actress further shared direct messages sent to her from a pseudo account trying to shame her for being a single mother and giving her advice on how to raise her children.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, another Angry Woman about a single mother that does not take advice about her children. Also thank you for calling me rich ata wewe unaona
Can you see the pain hadi naitwa nugu Hana time yet ameniandikia paragraph Yooh Lord see us your hard working Single Mathers.Anyway I rebuke your advice,” Matubia wrote while respondimg to the bully.
“Busy rich woman mwenye Hana time ya Single Mother bado anatext AGAIN I SAY STAKI ADVICE YA HOW TO RAISE MY CHILDREN.”
Single motherhood
Recently, Jackie opened up about the difficulties she has faced raising her children alone. In a candid video shared on her platform, she spoke about how her relationships with her baby daddies didn’t work out and how she’s had to be both mum and dad to her daughters.
