Digital content creator Andrew Duncan Oduor, widely known as 2mbili, has opened up about losing his mother at the age of seven, sharing how he only understood the pain of her death after he began feeling her absence.

2mbili shared the emotional memory a day after attending the burial of Arbantone musician Stoopid Boy in Nyandarua, as he reflected on the young father’s children growing up without their parent.

“Stoopid Boy’s son reminds me of what happened to me in 2000! I lost my mother at the age of 7. I didn’t know how painful it was at that age!” 2mbili said on Thursday, September 17,2026.

2mbili on how he mourned

The comedian recalled how people around him mourned his mother while he struggled to understand why they were grieving.

“People were mourning loudly, running around calling her name, holding me, telling me & my bros it shall be well & I was wondering what was wrong with them because I didn’t feel it at that age,” he recalled.

According to 2mbili, the pain did not immediately come from his mother’s death. Instead, he began experiencing it when he started noticing her absence in his life.

“Until I Started Feeling Her Absence! Her death wasn’t painful to me, but feeling her absence made me cry every day!” he said.

He added that the pain remains with him and resurfaces whenever he feels his mother’s absence.

“Every time her absence hits me, I do cry a lot, man!” 2mbili said.

2mbili on Stoopid Boy’s children

Reflecting on Stoopid Boy’s children, 2mbili said he remembered seeing the musician as an ordinary young man at a function.

“I Saw This Kid Looking Like Just A Normal Village Kid Attending A Function & Said He Ain’t Strong; He Just Doesn’t Know What’s Happening!!” he said.

2mbili said the children may only fully understand the impact of losing their father as they grow older.

“Growing Without A Parent At This Age Is Just Crazy!!” he stated.

The comedian went on to pray for the children, asking God to guide and protect them as they grow up without their father.

“May God give these kids hope & love! Give them health, and protect them from every bad thing! “I pray they get education & be street smart!!” 2mbili added.
