‘Hatujazaa nyuki’: Diamond sends message to relatives visiting his newborn with flowers

Tanzanian Bongo Flava icon Diamond Platnumz has joked that relatives visiting his newborn child should stop bringing flowers and instead bring money, saying they did not give birth to a bee.
In an Instagram Story on Sunday, August 2, 2026, the ‘Komosava’ hitmaker listed uncles and aunties among the relatives who had made an effort to visit his newborn daughter in hospital.
However, he jokingly lamented that most of them were arriving with flowers as gifts for the baby, leaving him wondering what benefit the family would get if the flowers continued piling up.
Diamond insisted that money gifts would be more worthwhile and worth celebrating, while noting that the flowers the family had received by that point were already enough.
“Wajomba na ma Aunty mnaokuja hospitali. Jamani, hatujazaa nyuki. Haya maua yanatosha, hebu njoeni na hela bana,” Diamond wrote.
Birth of their baby girl
Diamond’s playful message came shortly after the singer and his partner, Tanzanian musician Zuchu, welcomed their first child together, a baby girl.
Diamond was the first to announce the birth, welcoming his daughter with a heartfelt message in which he expressed the immense love already surrounding the newborn.
The singer described his daughter as a precious little angel and assured her that she was already loved more than words could express.
“Welcome to the world, our precious little angel. You are already loved more than words can ever say!” Diamond wrote.
Zuchu also shared the joyful news with her followers, posting a photo of the newborn alongside a brief but emotional message in which she described her daughter as her “whole world”.
Baby shower
The arrival of the baby girl marked a major milestone for the couple and came just days after they held a lavish baby shower to celebrate the impending arrival of their first child together.
Among those who attended the celebration were veteran taarab singer Khadija Kopa, who is Zuchu’s mother, comedian Baba Levo and singer Barnaba Classic, among other guests.
One of the major highlights of the event was the revelation that Diamond and Zuchu were expecting a baby girl, with the venue taking on a pink-themed atmosphere as guests celebrated the news.
The occasion was also marked by intimate moments between Diamond and Zuchu, who were seen embracing and sharing affectionate moments in front of their guests.
Diamond also surprised Zuchu with a cash gift of US$30,000, equivalent to approximately Ksh3.87 million, as a token of appreciation for carrying their child.
While presenting the money, Diamond described the amount as a small gift compared with what Zuchu had given him, saying that no amount of money could match the value of bringing their child into the world.
The singer praised Zuchu with affectionate words and said that if he were to compensate her for everything she had done for him, no amount of money would ever be enough.
“She’s keeping the dollars. It’s only a small amount. It’s US$30,000. In Tanzania that’s about TSh79 million. The gift this lady, this sister, this woman, this mother, this beautiful woman has given me can never be compared to money. If I said I was paying her according to what she has done, I would be lying, but at least this is a token,” Diamond said as guests applauded.
