Guardian Angel praised after electrifying performance at KICC during Vision 2060 launch

Gospel singer Guardian Angel has received praise from public figures, celebrities and Kenyans after delivering an electrifying performance during the launch of Kenya’s Vision 2060 at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
The singer, whose real name is Peter Omwaka, was among the artistes who entertained guests during the high-profile event presided over by President William Ruto.
His performance quickly generated reactions online, with Kenyans praising the gospel artiste for showcasing his talent on a major national platform.
Among those who celebrated Guardian Angel was Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) communications official Philip Etale, who described him as “kijana wa Ingo” while expressing pride in his performance.
“Younger brother… kijana wa Ingo. Bwana, you have made us proud. Sisi kama jamii,” Etale said in a message celebrating the singer.
The message, which was accompanied by the hashtag #AProsperousKenya, highlighted the pride Guardian Angel’s performance generated among members of his community.
Guardian Angel also received praise from his wife, social media personality Esther Musila, who celebrated both him and Young Fortune, a young artiste signed to his Seven Heaven Music label.
Musila affectionately referred to her husband as “Omwaka” while praising his performance and Young Fortune’s stage presence.
“Have you seen my people today? The Omwaka himself,” Musila wrote, before praising Young Fortune for commanding the stage. She further celebrated the two artistes, saying she was proud of them and describing Seven Heaven Music as a label that nurtures talented performers.
The performances added an entertainment dimension to an event centred on Kenya’s long-term development ambitions.
What is Vision 2060?
Vision 2060 is being positioned as Kenya’s long-term development agenda beyond the existing Vision 2030 framework. The initiative seeks to shape a national conversation on the country’s future and establish long-term priorities that can guide Kenya’s development over the coming decades.
President Ruto has called for Kenyans from different sectors of society, including young people, professionals, religious leaders, business people and ordinary citizens, to participate in shaping the country’s future beyond Vision 2030.
The launch at KICC therefore brought together government officials, leaders and other stakeholders, while providing a platform to showcase Kenyan talent.
For Guardian Angel, the performance became one of the memorable entertainment moments of the event, earning him recognition from both public figures and members of the public.
The praise from Etale and Musila, coupled with reactions from Kenyans online, has once again placed the gospel singer in the spotlight as he continues to make his mark in Kenya’s entertainment industry.
