Gengetone icon Kim Swat urges fans to always honour God after receiving answered prayers

Canada-based Kenyan Gengetone singer Kim Swat has urged his followers to remain faithful after receiving God’s blessings, warning that many people end up dishonouring the very things they prayed for by celebrating them in sinful ways.

Speaking in a TikTok video on Saturday, July 4, 2026, Swat challenged his followers to reflect on how they respond after achieving the breakthroughs they had long prayed for.

According to the former Gengetone star, many people diligently seek God’s intervention during difficult moments but quickly abandon His teachings once their prayers are answered.

“Whatever you found through prayers, never celebrate it in sin. Are we together? If you prayed and got something out of it, do not celebrate that win in sinful ways,” he said.

Kim Swat urged believers to honour God not only while praying for breakthroughs but also after receiving them, saying blessings should never become a reason to drift away from one’s faith.

He further clarified that his message was not influenced by alcohol or any other substance, noting that he was sharing advice that he strongly believes could help someone.

“And please don’t say I am high because I am sharing this advice,” he added.

Kim is among the Kenyan artistes who played a key role in popularising the Gengetone movement, rising to fame as a member of the celebrated music group Wakali Wao, where he frequently collaborated with fellow artiste Iano Ranking.

The rapper carved out a name for himself in Kenya’s street music scene through energetic party anthems and collaborations that resonated with the country’s youthful audience.

Over the years, he has released a string of popular songs, including Design Hii, one of his biggest solo breakthroughs, as well as Finyo, a viral hit with Wakali Wao and Swat Matire that dominated clubs and sparked numerous TikTok dance challenges.

Other notable releases include Fyatu, Tetemesha (Tetenya) with Mark Acairasan, Black Paper, Nipe Time, Forever, Trigger Finger, Abuse, Money, and Mbao, showcasing both his energetic Gengetone style and his versatility as a solo artiste.

Away from music, Kim Swat has also experienced major milestones in his personal life. In August 2024, he and his partner announced they were expecting their first child before the musician later relocated to Canada, where he is currently based while continuing to pursue his music career.

The rapper also faced a deeply emotional moment earlier this year after losing his father. In April 2026, he travelled back to Kenya to give his father a final send-off in an emotional burial ceremony attended by family, friends and fans.
