Gachagua lookalike Cyrus joins politician at yet another US meeting days after their first encounter

The Seattle-based Kenyan shared a video from the gathering on Friday, September 18, 2026, showing him seated close to Gachagua as the former Deputy President interacted with members of the Kenyan community in the United States.
The engagement came days after Cyrus finally met Gachagua in person, a moment that followed weeks of growing attention over their striking physical resemblance. Gachagua had met Cyrus on the sidelines of a Maa Community Cultural Evening in Washington State and later shared photos of the encounter, identifying him as a Kenyan from Kikuyu, Kiambu County, who lives and works in Seattle.
Those attending were seen coming to the front one after another to address Gachagua and share their stories with him, creating an intimate setting in which the politician listened to different members of the community.
Cyrus was seated among the guests in seats close to where Gachagua and his wife were positioned.
The lookalike stood out in his usual style, wearing a wide-brimmed cowboy hat with a Maasai shuka draped around his shoulders as he followed the proceedings.
He appeared visibly excited throughout the engagement, repeatedly turning towards the camera as the event unfolded.
His presence at another gathering involving Gachagua comes only days after their first face-to-face meeting, which marked a major moment in Cyrus’s sudden rise to online prominence.
Cyrus later shared the footage with his followers while inviting them to give their thoughts on how his life has been developing since he became widely known because of his resemblance to the former Deputy President.
“Mmegundua nini kwa hii video?” he wrote.
Cyrus also expressed happiness over Gachagua’s presence in the United States as he reflected on the latest opportunity to attend an event where the former Deputy President was engaging members of the Kenyan diaspora.
Moment of fame
His latest appearance adds another chapter to the unusual journey that has seen Cyrus move from being a relatively unknown Kenyan living in the US to becoming a widely recognised social media personality after videos of his resemblance to Gachagua went viral.
His cowboy hat also became part of the look that helped fuel the comparisons, with social media users soon giving him the nickname “RiggyG Junior” and referring to him as “Gachagua Mdogo”.
The attention eventually culminated in his meeting with Gachagua during the Maa Culture Evening engagement.
Gachagua later acknowledged the resemblance himself, describing Cyrus as a vibrant social media enthusiast and asking Kenyans to give their verdict on whether the two looked alike.
“On the sidelines of the Maa Culture Evening engagement, I was pleased to meet Cyrus Kinuthia, aka RiggyG Junior, from Kikuyu in Kiambu County, who lives and works in Seattle,” Gachagua wrote.
“Cyrus is a vibrant social media enthusiast, and many people believe we resemble each other. What do you think? Do we look alike?”
Since the meeting, Cyrus has continued giving his followers glimpses into his life in the United States, including showing off his Jeep Wrangler in a TikTok video shared on September 12.
