DJ who once worked with Diamond Platnumz rescued from streets by Mosiria
By Valerian Khakayi, August 13, 2026A renowned DJ who once worked with Tanzanian music star Diamond Platnumz has been rescued from the streets after being found sick and struggling with addiction.
Nairobi City County’s customer engagement chief executive Geoffrey Mosiria, on Thursday, August 13, 2026, came across the man sleeping along Mombasa Road near the Nyayo Stadium roundabout and stopped to find out more about his situation.
While Mosiria was questioning him to establish his identity and understand how he ended up on the streets, several passersby who recognised him stopped and identified him as a well-known DJ.
The passersby said the man had previously worked in the entertainment industry and at one point worked with Tanzanian music star Diamond Platnumz.
Rescue operation
As he sought more information about the DJ, Mosiria spoke to people who knew him and told them he would take their contact details and inform them where they could bring him to receive help.
“Nitachukua number yenyu niwaambie mahali mtamuleta asaidiwe huyu DJ,” Mosiria said.
Mosiria shared the man’s story on social media, expressing concern over his current condition.
He explained that the man had been a DJ and had worked with Diamond at some point but had since fallen into addiction and was now battling illness while living on the streets.
“Enyewe watu huku inje wanakapitia! Huyu jamaa alikuwa DJ, who even worked at one point with Tanzania star Diamond, but due to addictions, here he is sick and suffering, sleeping along Mombasa Road at Nyayo Stadium roundabout,” he added.
Mosiria seeks DJ’s family
He also appealed to members of the public who might know the man’s family to come forward and help reconnect him with his relatives.
“If you know his family, kindly let them know and inform me,” he said.
The intervention comes as Mosiria continues to use his social media platforms to highlight the plight of vulnerable people living on the streets and seek help for those in need.
The DJ’s story has also highlighted the devastating impact addiction can have on people’s lives, with his current circumstances contrasting sharply with his reported past in the entertainment industry.
