Crazy Kennar praises President Kagame as father figure before asking for a selfie

Kenyan comedian and content creator Crazy Kennar praised Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame as a father figure to Rwandans during a forum in Kigali on August 24, 2026, before asking him for a selfie.
Kennar said he was not at the forum to ask a question but wanted to share his thoughts after observing how the people relate to their president. He also explained that he had previously made a skit about the relationship between Kagame and Rwandan citizens.
“Thank you so much, Mr President. Mine is not really a question; my name is Crazy Kennar, I am a content creator from Kenya, my main work is usually to entertain people by reflecting to them what usually happens,” Crazy Kennar said.
Kennar explained that he had done a skit on how Rwandan citizens relate to Kagame as their president. He said he had carried out research while he was in Rwanda and spoke to several people about their views of the president. According to Kennar, the responses he received helped him understand how some Rwandans view Kagame.
“I have actually done a skit on how Rwandan citizens relate to you as a president. After doing a lot of research when I was around, a lot of people said we see our president as our father,” Crazy Kennar said.
Kennar shares his experience
The comedian said he initially thought the description of Kagame as a father figure was a joke. He explained that his view changed after witnessing Kagame solving a case during the forum. Kennar said the experience helped him understand what he had earlier heard from the people he spoke to.
“I thought that was a joke until I witnessed it today, you solving a case here. Your people really love you,” Crazy Kennar said.
Kennar then moved to his final request to the Rwandan president. He said his father had always believed that content could take people to different places. The comedian explained that he wanted to have a selfie with Kagame so he could show his father that he had met the president of Rwanda.
“Lastly, Mr President, my father usually says he believes content can take people places; for me, I just request a selfie so that I can go and show him that I met the president of Rwanda,” Crazy Kennar said.
Kagame agreed to the request and told Kennar that he would give him two selfies. Kennar then walked to the president and took the two selfies. The moment followed Kennar’s remarks about his experience in Rwanda and his description of how some Rwandans view Kagame.
The interaction ended with Kennar getting the two selfies he had requested from Kagame.
