Bongo Flava star Barnaba Classic breaks down after fire destroys his studio

Tanzanian Bongo Flava star Barnaba Classic has been left devastated after a fire destroyed his High Table Sound Entertainment Company Ltd studios in Dar es Salaam.

In the heartfelt message, Barnaba said the fire broke out around 2:30 am on Monday, June 1, 2026, shortly after he had returned from his “Malkia wa Nguvu” performance in Arusha.

He explained that he briefly stopped by his office, greeted his team, and went home before receiving a distressing call that his studio was already on fire.

“UCHUNGU MKUBWA SANA NINAOPATA KUTOA TAARIFA STUDIO ZANGU ZIMEUNGUA MOTO USIKU HU KUANZKA SAA 2:30 KAMILI,” he wrote, describing the moment the fire broke out.

The “Salama” hitmaker said he rushed back only to find his creative headquarters in flames, describing the moment as painful and overwhelming.

He noted that the studio had just undergone costly renovations two weeks earlier and served as a key creative space supporting many young talents.

MOYO UNANIUMA, NIMELIA SANA KWA UCHUNGU, NIMEKOSA NGUVU KABISA. NASIKITIKA KUSEMA HQ YETU IMEKUA MAJIVU,” Barnaba said, expressing the depth of his pain.

Despite the devastation, he said he remains anchored in faith, thanking God and accepting the incident as part of life’s journey.

MUNGU WANGU WA MBINGUNI NINAKUSHUKURU KWA HILI… NITAANZA UPYA… NIMELIPOKEA KAMA FUNZO,” he added.

In a video recorded shortly after the incident, the artiste appeared visibly distraught and broke down in uncontrollable tears as he watched the studio being consumed by flames.

He was seen being comforted by people who gathered at the scene during the night as firefighters and neighbours attempted to contain the situation.

He also appreciated neighbours, his landlady, his team, police officers, and firefighters for their quick response and support during the incident.

Barnaba further stated that he will not hold anyone responsible, insisting that everything happens according to God’s plan.
