Bolo Bespoke breaks silence on Stoopid Boy’s death, warns youth about depression and social media pressure

Kenyan fashion designer and content creator Bolo Bespoke has spoken about the death of Arbantone artiste Stoopid Boy, using the loss to urge young people to take care of their mental health and be careful about the pressure that comes with social media.
Speaking during an interview on Thursday, August 27, 2026, Bolo described Stoopid Boy’s death as a difficult loss, particularly because of his age and talent.
He said young people are facing different challenges as they try to find their way in life, including financial pressure and the expectations created by social media.
“It’s very bad when we lose a young soul who was extremely talented. It’s a big problem worldwide. Young people have a lot going on. Young people are trying to figure out life when it’s too hard for them,” Bolo said.

Bolo noted that the current economic situation has also made life difficult for many young people, making it important for them to be careful about what they consume online.
He encouraged young people not to measure their lives against what they see from others on social media, noting that online personalities may not always show what they are going through away from the cameras. “In front of the cameras, I may be all this hyped, but behind the scenes, do you know who I really am?” he asked.
Bolo also spoke about the importance of knowing oneself and surrounding oneself with people who offer the right support.He urged young people to be mindful of their friendships, surroundings and the decisions they make when dealing with pressure.
“Usijieke sana na hii maisha tunaishi. Above that, control the way you do drugs. Mimi, I drink a lot. At the same time, I don’t drink a lot. So you have to be very careful when you follow me,” he said.
‘Drugs are not the solution’
Bolo further called for moderation, warning young people against turning to drugs as a way of dealing with difficult situations.
He said pressure can influence people to make decisions that may have lasting consequences and encouraged young people to seek healthier ways of dealing with challenges. “Drugs, you must control. I know pressure is mob; drugs are not the solution. Are we together?” Bolo said.
His comments came on the same day Stoopid Boy’s death was confirmed, prompting fellow artistes and fans to remember the young musician and his contribution to Kenya’s growing Arbantone scene.
Stoopid Boy dies
Stoopid Boy, whose real name was Edger, died on Thursday, August 27, 2026. He was best known for his song ‘G Bag Na Jug’, which gained attention through its street sound and collaborations with other Kenyan artistes.
His close friend, singer Jay Classic, confirmed the death in a Facebook video after arriving at Stoopid Boy’s home in Gota City, where family, friends and other mourners had gathered.
Jay also claimed that Stoopid Boy had died by suicide. However, the circumstances surrounding his death had not been independently established at the time of reporting.
The death has renewed conversations around the pressures facing young people, with Bolo urging his generation to be more careful about the influences they allow into their lives.
