Digital content creator David Oyando, popularly known as Mulamwah, has expressed joy after meeting Raila Odinga’s widow, Ida Odinga, during a United Nations-related event held in Nairobi, describing the moment as both honouring and memorable.

In an Instagram post on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, Mulamwah also revealed that Ida Odinga interacted with him warmly and even complimented his style in a playful remark.

He said she told him “luku ni kali,” a Sheng phrase meaning his outfit looked stylish and impressive, a comment he noted left him excited and humbled at the same time.

Mulamwah added that the encounter was a privilege as Ida is Kenya’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON).

He said the encounter was meaningful and reflected the importance of engaging with leaders in such global spaces.

Aliniambia luku ni kali … 😂👌💪 Today I had the privilege of meeting our MUM, Dr. Ida Odinga, who serves as Kenya’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON), he added.

He further revealed that he appreciated the advice he received during the interaction, saying he was thankful for the words shared with him during the brief meeting.

Mulamwah added that the moment stood out for him personally, especially given the high-level nature of the UN-related forum where the interaction took place.

“Thank you for the advice. We celebrate you,” he shared.

Youth leader

Separately, the comedian expressed gratitude after representing young people at the forum held at the United Nations headquarters.

Mulamwah described the opportunity as a proud moment, saying it was a testament to how far his journey has come.

Mambo ya God. Proud to be in rooms where the world’s future is designed,” Mulamwah wrote.

The comedian revealed that he had the privilege of representing the youth at the China in Action Forum, an event focused on the 2030 United Nations Agenda for Sustainable Development.

According to Mulamwah, participating in discussions at such a high-level forum was both an honour and a reminder of the important role young people play in shaping the future.

“Had the privilege to represent the youth at the UN headquarters “China in action” forum for the 2030 UN AGENDA – sustainable development,” he added.

Photos shared by Mulamwah showed him at the event, where he joined other delegates and participants involved in discussions on development and youth engagement.

The forum brought together stakeholders to discuss sustainable development goals and the actions needed to achieve them by 2030.

The UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a global blueprint aimed at ending poverty, protecting the environment and promoting prosperity for all.
