2Mbili explains what made him release Stoopid Boy’s podcast after his death
By William Muthama, August 28, 2026Digital content creator 2Mbili has explained why he released a podcast featuring Gotta City rapper Stoopid Boy shortly after news of his death, having kept the episode unpublished for about two months.
In an Instagram post on Friday, August 28, 2026, 2Mbili said he recorded the interview with Stoopid Boy about two months ago but chose not to release it because of some of the things the late rapper said during the conversation.
According to the content creator, Stoopid Boy repeatedly asked him to publish the episode and made the request again on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, just two days before his death.
Stoopid Boy kept asking
2Mbili said the rapper’s repeated requests had not convinced him to publish the interview immediately.
He said he had several other recorded podcast episodes that were also yet to be released and had his own reasons for keeping them unpublished.
However, everything changed after he learnt of Stoopid Boy’s death on Thursday, August 27, 2026.
“My last conversation with Stoopid Boy was this week on Tuesday. And that interview, we did it like two months ago, I think. Just two weeks after he buried his bro,” 2Mbili said.
He said Stoopid Boy had asked him again that week to release the podcast, although he had not been planning to do so.
“He has been pushing me to release the episode. This week on Tuesday he asked again, and I wasn’t planning to release it” he recalled.
Death changed decision
2Mbili said news of the rapper’s death left him deeply affected and ultimately prompted him to release the interview.
He described the episode as what he believed could be Stoopid Boy’s final interview.
“My heart is weak over getting news of his demise. I have had no option but to release what I think is the last interview he did,” he said.
The release came as fans and fellow entertainers continued sharing tributes to the rapper, best known for his hit “G Bag Na Jug.”
2Mbili also defended his decision to speak about Stoopid Boy after his death, following criticism from people questioning why some entertainers were only coming forward after the rapper had died.
“Stop pointing fingers. Stoopid Boy alisaidiwa, ninyi mliona,” he said.

2Mbili said he had personally been among those who tried to help Stoopid Boy while he was alive.
He cited efforts to help the rapper seek rehabilitation and deal with the challenges he was facing.
According to 2Mbili, however, those around Stoopid Boy could only do so much.
“We really supported him. He chose his own direction, or maybe he wasn’t comfortable with what binadamu gave him,” he said.
He also urged Kenyans to stop blaming individuals for failing to save someone from personal struggles.
2Mbili said people often do not know the battles others are fighting privately and encouraged people to check on one another and support those going through difficult moments.
“Everybody is fighting something. Hakuna mtu ako fiti. Watu wanajikaza tu,” he said.
Stoopid Boy died on Thursday, August 27, 2026, with friends confirming the news as tributes continued to pour in from the Kenyan entertainment industry.
His death came about two months after the loss of his brother Yan, while friends said he had continued working on music and had been planning new projects before his death.
