Carol Sonnie says boyfriend convinced her to let Mulamwah see his daughter
Digital content creator Caroline Muthoni, alias Carol Sonie, has opened up about the role her current boyfriend played in improving co-parenting between her and comedian David Oyando, famously known as Mulamwah.
Speaking candidly about their situation at the Muhia wa Maigi podcast, Sonnie revealed that her boyfriend played a significant role in convincing her to allow Mulamwah to see their daughter.
She explained that her partner encouraged her to look at the situation from the perspective of the child, noting that children benefit from having both parents present in their lives.
According to her, the decision was made with the child’s well-being in mind.
“My current boyfriend ndio alinikubalia my baby daddy aone mtoto,” Sonie revealed.
“For the sake of your child, the child needs the dad.”

Sonnie on Mulamwah and Keilah
This comes months after Carol Sonnie revealed why she agreed to let Mulamwah see their daughter, Keilah, despite their messy breakup.
Speaking on a YouTube show on Monday, December 15, 2025, she explained that her decision was motivated by their child’s well-being.
“After hapa najua nakuja kulimwa vita. Vita na wanawake…they don’t understand,” she said, adding, “Let me tell you something. For me to come to an agreement or even for me to allow you kukuja kuona mtoto wako, it is because, honestly speaking, Keilah is not part of our differences. I would rather put the differences aside so that Keilah has the best of everything.”

Sonnie admitted that co-parenting requires setting aside personal issues to prioritise their child. She highlighted that despite the challenges of their past relationship, the bond between Keilah and her father is important and should be nurtured.
“You have seen Keilah today, after a very long time. Kuna kitu…the bond ilikua. I was like, “Aii, kwani mnajuana?” she said, describing the moment they reconnected.
The mother of one explained that seeing the father-daughter bond was emotional for her as a mother.
“The bond, the everything, also me as a mother, I was like…ohh…so this is what this girl has been missing a lot,” she said.
She acknowledged that letting Mulamwah spend time with Keilah requires sacrifice and responsibility on her part. According to her, the decision is about ensuring that Keilah experiences both parental figures and receives the best possible upbringing.
