Betty Bayo’s mum commends Pastor Kanyari, reveals how close they are
By Steve Ireri, December 7, 2025Betty Bayo’s mother, Joyce Wairimu Mbugua, has lauded Pastor Victor Kanyari, describing him as a good man and emphasising the strong friendship they share, amid ongoing disputes over her late daughter’s property and the welfare of her children.
Speaking in a Facebook live on the night of Saturday, December 6, 2025, Joyce revealed that she has been in direct communication with Kanyari regarding the custody of his children, Sky and Danny, whom he had with Betty Bayo before her marriage to Tash.
She said she urged Kanyari to prioritise seeking full custody of his children to ensure their safety and wellbeing.
“Besides everything I have said about Tash, I want to say that Kanyari is a good man and we have a very good friendship. With these new developments, I spoke to him recently and asked him to prioritise seeking full custody of his children,” she said.
Joyce made it clear that her concerns are directed at Tash, stating that he had mishandled aspects of her daughter’s property and even dared her to take legal action if she wished.
She explained that she would personally oversee the return of all property and belongings that rightfully belonged to Betty, asserting her authority as the only legally recognised next of kin.
“As for Tash, I want him to return all the belongings he currently has that belonged to my daughter, and I will personally oversee that process. You can imagine that when I raised my concerns with him, he told me to take him to court if I wanted to. I think he assumed I didn’t have the power to speak or that I wouldn’t come forward. Now I have, and this is my official statement,” Joyce shared.
While narrating how she has been sidelined in matters regarding her daughter, Joyce appealed to well-wishers to support her efforts in ensuring that Betty’s children are moved from the house currently shared with Tash.
She claimed that Tash is not fit to stay with them, adding that her explosive reaction is because she wants to prioritise the safety of her daughter’s children.
“I am appealing to all well-wishers to support me in this matter because I need Betty’s children to be removed from staying in the same house with Tash,” she added.
