Baba Talisha recalls painful moment daughter discovered mother’s grave outside their home
By Steve Ireri, March 22, 2026TikToker Faustine Lipuku, popularly known as Baba Talisha, has recalled how his daughter Talisha reacted after being discharged from hospital, where she had been admitted, only to find her mother’s grave outside their home.
In a post shared on TikTok on Sunday, March 22, 2026, Baba Talisha revealed that his daughter, despite being very young at the time, appeared visibly heartbroken by the situation.
He then shared a video from that day in which Talisha is seen crawling on top of her mother’s grave and gently touching a photograph that had been mounted there, in a clear indication that she had recognised her.
In the clip, Talisha is also seen playing with flowers that had been placed on the grave and repeatedly touching the photo of her mother, where a tombstone bearing details of her birth and death had been firmly set.
“Sometime after Talisha got out of hospital when she first went to her mom’s grave,” Baba Talisha wrote in the video, where he also added crying emojis.
Untimely passing
Baba Talisha’s wife, Milka Faustina, tragically passed away on August 15, 2020, in a road accident.
The incident occurred along the Thika Superhighway as the family was returning home from a photoshoot.

Baba Talisha, a professional photographer then in his fourth year of university, was driving when their vehicle rammed into a stationary car parked by the roadside near Kenyatta University.
Milka, who was only 22 at the time, died on the spot.
Immediate aftermath
The accident left the family in deep devastation. While Baba Talisha survived, their daughter, Baby Talisha, was critically injured and remained unconscious.
She was rushed to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and eventually transferred to Kenyatta National Hospital, where she spent over 20 days on life support.
Because she was fighting for her life in the hospital, Baby Talisha was unable to attend her mother’s funeral.
The years following the tragedy were marked by a difficult recovery process for both father and daughter.
Baby Talisha for instance, suffered a severe brain injury that caused her to lose her memory and retrogress in her developmental milestones.
She had to relearn basic skills like walking, eating, and talking from scratch.
The medical bills and ongoing therapy sessions, costing approximately Ksh2,000 per session three times a week, became overwhelming.
Philanthropist Ndung’u Nyoro famously mobilised Kenyans to raise over one million shillings to support her treatment.
Personal grief
He has also noted a personal struggle with fulfilling cultural obligations, such as her dowry, which he vowed to honor even after her passing.
