Anataka kujilazimisha kwa familia ya watu? Hanifa questions Oketch Salah’s intentions

Activist Hanifa Adan has addressed the situation surrounding Oketch Salah, who has claimed to be Raila Odinga’s adopted son.
Hanifa waded into the debate in a brief statement on her official X account in which she questioned Salah’s intention in the wake of recent developments.
“Kwani Oketch Salah anataka kujilazimisha kwa familia ya watu? (Is Oketch Sala keen on forcing himself into other people’s families?),” Hanifa posed.
She laughed off the situation, adding “What’s up with that guy?”.
Winnie Odinga’s interview
Focus shifted on Salah after Winnie Odinga did an interview on Tuesday, January 28, 2026, with a local TV station.
The East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) lawmaker dismissed Salah as a serial liar during the interview, adding that nobody really knows the man who took photos with Raila Odinga towards the final days of the former Prime Minister’s life.
“I have met Oketch Salah, but I’d like to believe nobody really knows him. A flat-out lie that you were there at the time of my father’s death and you were not, and talking about things that did not occur, is quite dangerous and makes me question his intentions.
While giving her the truth, Winnie questioned his intentions.
According to the East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) legislator, Oketch should be rushed to either Mathare or DCI immediately.
“He should be rushed to either Mathare or DCI with immediate effect,” she asserted.
Salah’s association with Raila
Oketch Salah has in the past alleged a close relationship with the former Prime Minister and widely identifies as Raila’s adopted son.
He recently surfaced with his version of the truth, claiming that he was with the departed leader from the beginning of his illness to the final moments.
Notably, Salah took several photos with the former Prime Minister towards the final days of the latter’s life and shared them online.
In the days following the former Prime Minister’s death, Oketch found himself at the centre of attention, with the divisions in the Orange Democratic Movement only fuelling the debate.
Oketch jumped right into the debate on the political direction ODM should take, alleging a private conversation he had with Raila before death struck.
