Allan Ademba praises Kisumu youths after huge Tuko Kadi Dala march turnout

Niko Kadi movement leader Allan Ademba has welcomed the growing turnout of young people joining the voter registration drive across the country.
In a statement shared on his X account on Thursday, April 17, 2026, Ademba pointed to the large number of youths who turned up in Kisumu, saying the numbers reflect a rising level of awareness and participation among young Kenyans.
“Kisumu youths turning up in large numbers like this should say something. Youths want change and are ready for it. Thank you, Kisumu. Tuko kadi,” Ademba stated.
The Niko Kadi movement is a youth-led campaign encouraging eligible voters, particularly first-time voters, to register ahead of the 2027 General Election. The initiative has gained traction in recent weeks, largely driven through social media mobilisation and on-the-ground outreach.
Ademba has been urging young people to move beyond online conversations and take practical steps by acquiring voter cards. The campaign aims to increase youth participation in the electoral process, with a target of millions of new registrations.
The movement has seen significant turnout in several counties, including universities and urban centres, where registration centres have recorded increased activity. In Kisumu, hundreds of youths were reported to have turned up, forming long queues as they sought to register.
Ademba also announced a march in Nairobi’s Central Business District as part of the mobilisation efforts. The march was aimed at raising awareness and encouraging more young people to register as voters.
However, the planned activities in Nairobi faced challenges after authorities declined to grant a permit for a voter registration drive in the CBD. Despite this, the movement has continued to gain momentum in other parts of the country.
The Niko Kadi campaign continues to expand, with organisers maintaining focus on increasing the number of registered young voters ahead of the next general election.
