Police ambush a man and seize rolls of bhang

Police officers from Langas Police Station have nabbed one man linked to at least twenty-eight rolls of bhang in the Langas area of the Kapseret constituency.
In a post on the National Police Service official X account on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, police confirmed that the person of interest was nabbed during a patrol operation targeting narcotics and illicit alcohol.
According to the National Police, the man was apprehended in the Kona area within the Langas area.
“Yesterday, officers from Langas Police Station arrested one suspect in possession of 28 rolls of cannabis (bhang) during a patrol operation targeting narcotics and illicit alcohol. The arrest took place at Kona within the Langas area,” NPS noted.

Police have further announced that the person of interest was later escorted to the police station and has been on remand pending arraignment in court.
At the same time, the officers have announced an intensified fight against narcotic drugs and illicit alcohol across various parts of the country.
“The suspect was escorted to the station and remanded in custody, pending arraignment in court. The National Police Service remains committed to the fight against narcotic drugs and illicit alcohol,” NPS added.
The National Police Service is now calling on members of the public to support the fight against narcotic drugs and illicit alcohol by providing information.
“We encourage members of the public to support these initiatives by providing information,” NPS said.

1,100 rolls of bhang in Kikuyu
The crackdown came just days after police officers from Kikuyu Police Station had arrested four persons of interest linked to drug peddling in the Makutano area.
The National Police Service (NPS), in a statement issued on Sunday, November 30, 2025, said the intelligence-led operation was launched after credible information from members of the public pointed to an active drug distribution network in the area.

Officers moved in swiftly, arresting the persons of interest and recovering a significant haul of cannabis.
Rolls of bhang seized
During the raid, police seized 1,107 rolls of bhang and an additional 6 kilograms of loose cannabis, with a combined estimated street value of Ksh210,000. The four were taken into custody and are currently being processed ahead of their scheduled arraignment.
“Officers from Kikuyu Police Station have conducted an intelligence-led operation in the Makutano area, leading to the arrest of four suspected drug peddlers. The suspects will be processed and arraigned in court. The operation also led to the recovery of 1,107 rolls and 6 kg of bhang, with an estimated street value of Ksh 210,000,” the NPS stated.
